So since my yarn didn't come in today (Booo!!! It's been 3 weeks - I think it took my holidays!), I was kind of stuck & went searching for a pashmina/shawl/scarf *something* to wear with my dress that I'm almost finished making. The dress is patterned blue w/ black trim:

(never mind the solid blue in this one - just imagine it's black)

(Sorry for the funny links for the pictures)

So my question is: Is it going to look dumb if I put a "navy" fringe/edging (like this one http://crochet.about.com/od/vintage/ss/crochetedfringe.htm ) on a solid black lightweight pashmina/scarf? I couldn't find it online, but the thread I have is Royale Fashion Crochet Thread (size 3) by J & P Coats (www.coatsandclark.com) in 0486 Navy. This navy isn't really a true navy...it's like a very dark royal blue. I really only have this blue, white, pink, red & purple for thread....and blue will go with a lot of what I already have :s. If my yarn had only come in....

I think those colors will harmonize nicely, especially the dark royal on the black pashmina.

Sounds beautiful, and that fringe design is knockout gorgeous! Would love to see a pic when you finish.

Ok, so I didn't do the fringe....the yarn that I had was a little too bulky for it, although I really liked the pattern & it was pretty easy to do (when I finally figured it out that you had to turn it sideways to get it proper!) But I found some silver trim stuff that worked out pretty nice. I may change it at some point, but right now, I like it as is. Here are some pictures for you:

ETA: Sorry - I don't know why it posted twice! It should only be once :s.

Thank you Kimberly! I got a lot of complements on it when I wore it to church yesterday. Now if I can only get my pretty shawl done....can't wait for that to get finished!
