Such a cute little tea set! I have a collection of tea things too! It's been too long since I have had a tea party for the girls! You inspire me! :)

Here is a pic of the tea cart we rescued from the flea market for $10! I'll be putting it upstairs in my craft room to hold supplies and just brighten up the space! DH did a great job taking it apart, sanding and painting! I had intended to do it myself but he just started doing it and I let him - lol!

Made myself a tatted mug rug and....wha lah

visit to Tuesday Morning this weekend resulted in a few new acquisitions!

I'm SUPER excited about this wooden advent calendar with little metal drawers! DH picked out the angel figure and I love how big it is! It will look great up on the high shelf in the living room!

I also just couldn't leave this metal pumpkin/turkey behind! Always good to add to my Thanksgiving decor stockpile!

Last weekend at a yardsale I piked up this padded box with 25 hankies for $1! The hankies are all colors and patterns, and a few have lace around them. I am ready for cold season!

Vanessa,
I can't really see the box very well, but it MIGHT be like the pink padded box that was full of hankies that my mother-in-law gave me. She has passed on now, but I have the box and her hankies.
You found a SMOKIN' DEAL!!!

Vanessa that is an awesome deal you found! They look like a very beautiful range of hankies.

Jamie, that advent calendar is adorable. I have been wanting to get something similar for my boys. They should have a better understanding by next Christmas.

This is the padded box. I felt a little guilty only paying $1.

Found this lot on Offer Up. There are 13 looms and 20 skeins. The seller had it up for a week when I found it. We agreed to meet yesterday at the local W-mart. Funny thing happen on the way. Hubby's pick up ran out of gas a half mile from home. Had to text the seller and relay my predicament and reschedule. Hubby started walking home while I stayed with the truck.

There are still gracious people in So. Cal. Not only did the couple bring the items to where I was stuck they stayed with me until Hubby drove back in my car. I let them know they could leave but I was thinking how glad I was they stayed.

I feel though I made a steal. Paid a dollar for each piece and met some angels.

Wow, you all have found some great treasures lately!! Like you, I love to stumble on a true "find" and snatch it up for a small sum of money. It seems that I have not been having much luck lately when I stop by the estate sales on the weekends. It has sort of been a "drought" out there and just lots of items that are going to find their way to the thrift store. The last few sales I went to, the people didn't even clean out the food in the kitchen and all of that was for sale. Weird. Why not donate the food that is still good to a food pantry?

My new to me toy.

It has 22 strings and an inlay celtic knot design along the harmonic curve and pillar. The sound box has a flower petal carving.

It is vintage and has a few dings but so do I.

Just got to learn how to play it. I can play guitar, dulcimer autoharp, a little bit of djembe and bodhran. After a couple drinks I play a mean gypsy tambourine. But any time I excel on the egg.

When I travelled to Japan to see my daughter, she took me to some thrift shops. The very first one had rolled up kimono for 100 yen (about $1). I only bought 3 because The Man said I'd already bought too much (humph!). This is the one that I carried back, the others she will mail.

Vanessa - Thrift shopping in Japan!!! So jealous! :)

We hit some barn sales this weekend - first of the year! Got a mesh metal wastebasket that I have torn the "decor" off of and will use in a project I have planned. I'll glue thick sisal rope around the whole outside and then use as wastebasket in our beachy themed bathroom downstairs.

I found some old wooden kitchen utensils - a honey dipper, a large wooden spoon with a great patina and an old fashioned hand mixer - all for decor use only on top of kitchen cabinets. And some spools of lace that I'll wash and add to crafting supplies. And my favorite find - a small old fashioned standing fan - needs a little TLC but even beat up looking it is awesome and I already have it up on a shelf in the living room.

I think I paid $17 for the lot - there were some small toys for DS in there too. So not bad!

At another sale I found a grapevine wreath for $1 - I'll take the faux flowers off and just use the form. Can't beat that price in store!

This morning the strap on my Brighton purse came off. As long as I was going to yard sales, I looked at purses too. Lo & behold, a Farmgirl purse for only $1!
It will be a substitute until I can get my lil red purse repaired. Also got a rain barrel for $60.

Last Saturday we were at yard sales and I picked up 3 bags of batting (for later) and then I spied a large wooden oval hoop. The lady there confirmed my hunch that it was for quilting. So now I'm finishing my mother-in-law's quilt top.

Found this cute little turtle thread holder for my tatting projects. His top lifts off and the thread comes through the top of his shell. He is made of cast iron.
