Also picked up some Christmas decorations from Goodwill last week-2 table top trees, plastic serving plates for cookies and goodies, a metal reindeer that holds Christmas cards, some Christmas plaques to hang, three stuffed moose and snowmens to put on the mantel of the fireplace, a basket of greenery w/berries and bows, a red long sleeve T to wear for the holidays and my favorite find - a pea coat for me for only $5.00. Have been wanted one for a long time so this was a sweet find. It's a little big, but when I wear it over bulky sweaters, etc. I'll still have room to move. Also got a pretty lavendar scardf to go with the coat. There's a few other things, but got all of it for under $30.00. Next week I'm off to the Salvation Army store to get some stuffed animals for the dogs for Christmas gifts and just see what they have to offer. Thrift store shopping is so much fun!!!!!!

Nancy, I love your lantern.

Yesterday was a good day thrifting. I picked up some old record albums for ten cents apiece to add to my collection.

I also found three photo albums for a total of one dollar. I plan to use these to make albums for my grandkids. they come to visit each year and we take lots of pictures.

And I found a complete lighted three-piece drum set for my outdoor Christmas decorations for only $10 and all the lights work.

On my lateat trip to a thrift I found these goodies.

Love this lighted ceramic piece of trees with carolers. It's sitting on my old Coronado sewing machine. I think there is something missing from either side of the carolers, but I'll find something to glue there you can bet on that!

Antique glass ball ornaments. The boxes have the original contents and with the tissue papers that were partially surrounding the balls. And the price stickers on them . . 88 cents! I paid 50 cents per box.
I also scored a box of glass ball ornaments of different sizes and colors . . a good sized box for $1.00. The other ornaments in this pic were part of what was in that box. I remember my mom has some of those bell shaped ornaments The ornament on top of the box of pink balls in the center has "Merry Christmas" embossed on it.
I LOVE this kind of stuff!!!

Gracie, you're probably right . . I'll bet they were street lights. I haven't really tried to find anything to put there yet . . getting there.

I saw a tree like the ceramic one you found, but it was missing so many of the little lights I just wasn't in the mood to try to make it work.

Fun stuff, huh!!

what wonderful finds you have all made. we didn't get to go thrifting yesterday. moving a washer turned into an all day affair.

I will go to the Christmas village parts, pieces and accessories dept. at Walmart and see if I can find some street lamps the right size to put there. If not, I KNOW I can put some itty-bitty evergreen trees that look like they have snow on them. There's always a way . .

I found these glass ball ornaments some time back and the little egg scale is actually one we used when I was a teenager to weigh eggs that we sold from our farm . . . a LL-OOO-NNN-GGG time ago. I'm going to add some more decorations to this on my credenza.

Went to one of my favorite thrift shops today. The manager there lots of times just looks at a stack of linens I pick out and decides what to charge which is considerably less than if she counted them all out. Today I found a set of 4 beautiful floral linen napkins, another set of 3 beautiful floral Waterford napkins, 6 pillow cases, checkered linen tea towel, 2 embroidered dressed scarves, 3 crochet doilies . . she charged me a total of $1.00! AND a pair of Lee jeans for $1.00 . . AND a beautiful vintage suitcase in a deep pink/red color in great condition, with a key for $3.00!!

The best part?? Several hours later at home I was trying on the jeans and found a $10 bill in the pocket!!! Soooo, I got double my money back . . .

Marianne . . I was tickled all shades of pink to put my hand in the pocket and pull that out!!

Kelly, you are so right . . the goodies were wonderful and the prices excellent! I bought the vintage suitcase to give to my daughter to use on our glamping adventures. Told her it ended up being free!

CJ -- I am sooo JEALOUS ! That thrift store sounds delightful. Our here think they are Macys and charge ridiculous prices for just old stuff. One of my old favorites closed too.

A pocket "full of money" How delightful! That was truly the luck of the Irish (whether you are or not).

I'm ready to find some new stores to explore !

We have Salvation Army and then the one I went to and got the jeans benefits our local battered womens shelter and we have on through the Methodist church. I went to the SA and Methodist stores today . . . more good finds. I'll post a pic of the picnic hamper I got for $3.00! A wonderful find for glamping!

Come on over . . we'll go thrifting together!

Here's the picnic hamper I got today for $3.00 . . .score!

The lining is lightly quilted and the bottom section is removable so it can be laundered and has 4 pockets, two on each of the long sides.
It's 17 x 13 and 9 1/2 inches deep.
Just tickled to add this to our glamping gear

CJ your finds are awesome! I think I may have to take a road trip to your area of the state for a shopping spree! The prices around the front range area are often pricey.

Come on down Heather . . .we can go thrifing! Get "calicogirl" (Sharon) to go with us, do lunch, have a good ole time!!!
I can't guarantee you find any extra cash in an pockets though . . . but ya' never know!

I also found a really nice, cushy bathroom rug in a lovely pinky/lavender color for $1.00 . . it'll be nice to put between our beds in the tent to sink our toes into when we get up. Love to have a bunch of small rugs for our tent and our canopy for glamping!
