I found a Sunbeam counter mixer (1970's style) still sealed in the box for $15 at Goodwill. I can' decide if I am going to sell it on eBay or keep. Thinking I will try to sell for 3 weeks for $100 and then keep if it is still unsold.

SAHM mom to four great boys.

That item with the box makes it much more valuable from what I've read!

Hit the jackpot! Canning jars at a garage sale for only 25 cents a piece! Pints, quarts and 2 quart jars. She had almost 2oo jars and threw in a bunch of old mayo jars for free. Ready for canning this year!

Did a bit of thrifting with my daughter on our recent road trip.

Found this wonderful little plate at one store . . to go with my collage of vintage/farmgirl-y things on my credenza

At another store several days later this beautiful 1890s antique quilt for only $10!! It has a bit of wear around the edges and on the backing but overall in really good condition!! For me this is a true treasure find!

I got a nice batch of things yesterday-
the Avon tray from the 80's

A nice lined basket for kitchen storage

a birch bark covered peg rack for drying herbs or display

a little Ball jar for some homemade goodies or a gift

a vintage kitchen spatula says Made in Hong Kong, from the 40's/50's?

nice little pine shelf I waxed for one of the bedrooms

Total about $8.00!

I got a kick out of your "spatula" because I use mine for taking the poops out of the cat litter box.

My daughter and I found one of the "spatulas" and we use it in our glamping cooking gear. (It would be a great pooper scooper too)

I have a quilt rack that I haven't been using . . . I think I'll get it out to hang that quilt on. I have other quilts as well.

Never thought of that, we have a plastic "pooper scooper". I found a nice, small (10" high) working oil lamp for $2.00 yesterday. Cute afer I cleaned it up!

Haven't done much lately with the heat, but I did get a great movie on DVD for $2.00, and three cute cheese spreaders for 25 cents each. One says "fresh asparagus", another "celery 10 cents", cute. I'll take them camping soon...

For less than $2 . . . a few little dishes to add to our "Glamping" gear. We need a soap dish for handsoap - the dish with pansies.
Need a candy dish - the clear dish (or whatever we want to put in it)
The other 2 little plates for whatever. When we had guests for tea last week we NEEDED more sweet dishes to serve our tea and treats properly. The lidded dish with the hummingbird won't go into the gear . . . I love hummingbirds and this was in perfect condition and for 50 cents . . why not! It'll go either in my bathroom or bedroom or be switched back and forth between the two.
The sign we'll use at our "glamp" site too! I had hanging hooks on it and has LOTS of potential!
Also found some vintage dresser scarves and doilies I'll find something creative to do with. They aren't in the pic as I laundered them and they're hanging out to dry in our clear, clean Colorado air and blue skies!

My latest 'find' was a grain sack from the old grain mill my Dad would take his wheat to at harvest. It made me cry when I found it. I felt I was back in the grain truck again with my Dad as a little girl, holding his hand. Makes me cry again just writing it even- I Miss you Papa!

I love to wander country roads.

Hey Jenn,
I certainly understand those feelings. Just recently dug out some things from our shed that were on our farm, lots of my dad's tools and some apple related things (apples were a BIG crop on our farm).
They are such treasures!

Found this Cosco step stool at a garage sale this weekend. It was in pretty rough shape, wiggly legs, only 2 bolts holding the stool part on and torn up seat and d-i-r-t-y.... A couple cans of spray paint and 4 new bolts, we have a cute stool! My grandma had one just like this in her kitchen...sure wish I had hers, but this brings back lots of memories.

Jenn that is wonderful. I went into a used book store that had scrpabooking supplies 1/2 off but it was shut off from the bookstore part. The clerk opened the room up and let me browse around. One wall was stacks of paper randomly shelved. I found 4-h paper.16 sheets for $2. That saved me $9.

I also got a blue canning jar, 2 gorgeous down-filled couch pillows (matched our stuff perfect!), a soft kitty condo and a vintage whisk at a thrift store.

Today I got some great deals- at Cost Plus World Market (where I got a 15 % off coupon in an email) we got: teas, 3 bottles (1 Liter each) of Italian extra virgin olive oil for $4.99 each. It was only today, an unadvertised special- good timing! This is my favorite- a cute tray with cover for picnicing, $3.00, and it collapses for easy storage! I now some of you would love this for GLAMPING :)

A cute little napkin holder at a thrift warehouse, 25 cents- I may cover with chicken wire, or paint?

A nice, big basket, 50 cents-

A dresser, drawers removed, for $6.00 for my new "canning cabinet", a work in progress, it will be painted and prettied up-

We went to a farmer's market about 1 p.m., and we got there as everyone one was packing up. I thought they closed at 3 p.m. I wanted to buy something before everything was gone, and spotted some red potatoes. I asked the lady farmer about them. She started bagging some, handed me a bag and said "here, try these.". I said, "let me give you some money", she said- "nope, I'd just have to take them home". Lesson learned- go early for better choices, go late for freebies, or discounts!!! We received about 5 lbs of 2 kinds of gorgeous fresh red tatters. I'll go back early next week and buy more local produce...

We have an old hard-side Apache popup camper that we haven't used in several years. A few days ago a guy stops by interested in buying it to move into the mountains to use for hunting camps. Sooooo, my hubby and I decided we'd sell it but it needed opened up and all of our junk that was still in there taken out.
I knew there were dishes, pots/pans, bedding and such, but I couldn't remember everything. My goodness, what a job!
I had forgotten about all the cool, very retro Tupperware that was out there. You know the stuff from the 70s in the bold colors. Found some of that.

Also these plates and all eight of them are there! This was the Melmac set my hubby bought me as a wedding gift . . in December 1968!!
There were 3 of the cereal bowls (yellow) but none of the other pieces. I laughed when I saw the plates! We'll celebrate our 44th anniversary in December this year.
Talk about a trip down memory lane!
CJ
