my old Taurus is in today for a snapped spring and broken swaybar and the coolant lines to the transmission rotted and dumped fluid all over my driveway. I wish we would go back to horse and buggy days
Yep, I am stuck with no car today. One in for repair and Sweetie has the other for work. Silly little latch that holds the hood closed broke off while adding windshield fluid. AGGGGGH! Connie

Amen!! I am terrified that we are going to have some good sized repair bills coming my way.
I dropped most of my tax return on a 5 year old car hoping that I would not have to worry about repairs for a while..... no such luck. I had a battery issue that cost about 450, then my timing belt snapped on the way to a rare date with the hubster... there went 600 >_< At least I love the car.
As a rule of thumb, if I see more than 3 cars of the same model dead on the side of the road in a close period of time, I can guesstimate that most of them have hit their expiration dates.
