Since we have had all this rain I am mowing like every other day. I cannot keep up. It's like it's going to take over the world if I don't keep mowing it. My little push mower can't keep up with it though. I only got the driveway and part of the garden mowed. I had to keep turning the mower up to clean out under the deck. It's full of mud and grass. It's humid in the evening. So I guess I'll have to mow in the middle of the day when it might be dry enough. I am pooped. I'm gla dit's growing but good grief already!

And the weeds are really loving all the rain and humidity for sure.

Us too. By the time we finish it is time to start again! And it is never dry on the days we can be there to mow. So we always mow wet. It is hard work for sure.

We have the same problem. I swear you can actually see the grass grow.

Give thanks to yourself everyday for all the wonderful things you do!

That's what I'm saying. I can actually see it grow as soon as I cut it. It's amazing. I don't remember this happeneing before. But then I have never only had a little push mower either to mow this whole place. It's just a little overwhelming to me. Especially when there is SO many other things that need to be done too.

I know what you mean! I only wish I could have a goat in my development, but I can't have any livestock here :( I would much rather my neighbors have a goat then to hear all the lawn trackers and weed wackers.

We have Lawn Service where we live but but we have the same problem with the rain.

Kristin...I remember those days with the push mower and every strip having to stop and
degunk the under carriage. You felt like you were doing more of that than actually mowing
the grass. Good luck girl...I feel for you. You will get LOTS of EXCERCISE with that method
of mowing. lol Probably More than you want or anticipated.

Hugs and smiles,
Peggy

PeggyAnn, I am glad I have this mower because I have now been walking. So this is my excercise right now. And believe me, I am getting excercise. I guess there is at least an acre I have to mow. Sometimes I'll do the driveway and garden area one day then the front of the big house one day, then the little house yard another day. Sometimes I do it all in one day. But with this humidity it seems like it takes longer. Plus all the extra work with stopping every few minutes.

Miriam, I used to be able to let my goats in the yard but now I have some azalea and some other trees and bushes that I can't let them get to. I need to get another Premier fence so I can set it up and move it around so I can let them in here. It would really help me. I might could let the cow and calf in. But they like the apple trees too much. I could try the sheep. They aren't near as bad.

Can you tether out a goat or your cow Kris? Maybe set up a goat rotation to "mow" the grass for you?

Jen, there are too many trees to get tangled up in. I would have to be here all day so I could get them unstuck. I could try a smaller rope I guess. I just can't let them get into the azaleas. Anyway, I got the whole yard mowed yesterday! So it's good a few more days.

Ok, I mowed on Thursday, it needs mowed again already! Hubby worked on the riding mower from h*** today. Now the belt is slipping. Always something with that mower. I was so hoping I could start using it.
