You can get bee pollen just like you would fresh honey. I got mine from a vendor at a farmers market. If it is going to work you have to take it BEFORE allergy season everyday and continue taking it throughout allergy season. I missed a few days right before allergy season started and it isn't really working as well as it should. Otherwise people have great results with it.
I posted on my blog, but will say it here too....I bought a product "Allergy Easer" in roll-on and in oil. I use it daily now. Today, however, the pollen level is low. It's a good day to wash my bedding.
My roommate suggested raw honey. I recently became paleo/primal so honey is now one of my only sweeteners. If I don't get it in my food then I'll take a teaspoon. I made a point to get raw, organic and local (since the pollen in PA is not the same as the pollen here in CO) and it really does seem to be helping! I've only had to take my allergy medicine once so far this spring!
I'm just a 20-something girl making a home for me (and my dog) and waiting for the family to fill it!
Last year we used local honey and it worked great! My son the year before had bad allergies and I felt so bad for him he was only 1 so last year we started putting honey in his milk in January and he didn't have any problems.
Nettle infusions and local, raw honey. I live in a high allergy area, and this keeps us clear. Even the dog gets nettles :), I just mix it with an egg in his food.
Just another update: I drink honey/vinegar/water every morning. Yesterday, I forgot in the "heat" of things. The allergy easer worked great after I came in from 2 hours of weeding, covered in sweat, but my eyes burned and were bright red on the lids. Then later, in the day it occurred to me that I have not had my honey mixture. Once I had that, I was fine. So for me, I need both. Even eye drops didn't take the sting away. I have been weeded every day for 2 hours and we are surrounded by very tall ragweed.
