My daughter is allergic to milk. So it is always a chore trying to find treats, mainly any kind of chocolate chips that don't have any dairy. Of course, I can find them, but then it is the COST!!!

I found some at our Fred Meyer 6 months ago that were the "off" brand so they were only $1.50 or so a bag! I bought a case. I went back the other day to get another case for our storage. But, of course, they have changed the formula and added Butter oil. bah.

So I am wondering if there are any farmgirls who would be willing to check their local Kroger's store (we don't have that store- but it was the brand of chocolate chips) to see if they carry Kroger Value Chocolate chips WITHOUT the dairy.

The ingredients are sugar, chocolate liquor, cocoa butter, soy lecithin, vanillin.

I will happily send you the money and shipping for a large Flat rate box. If you are willing and able to find them for a good price!

Let me know. =)

We have agrocery store here that has every possible kind of anything you could ever want. I am not kidding...it is kind of intimidating to shop there. I have lived all over the place and this one takes the cake! I will check there this week for you if you would like.

Angie - I just found this online... http://www.choclat.com/GFCF/gfcf.php The chocolate chips are about halfway down the page under baking supplies...they're a bit pricey, though. 'Looks like they've got some yummy treats, too!! 'Hope this helps a little! Hugs - Nini

Angie you could look at QFC if you have one nearby. They are also owned by Kroger and some stores carry Kroger brands.

Thanks for the website. They are WAY pricey! The Kroger's brand was so inexpensive compared to the other brands. I will look at QFC, we have one in the town next door. Thanks for the suggestion.

If anyone finds some--- Less than $2 a bag... I will pay you and send you a farmgirl treat!!! Thanks for the help and suggestions. =)

We have a Fred Meyers in Salem. Next time I head in there I will check for you. It may take me a few days but I will check.

Angie,
have you tried Carob? i don't know what's in it, but was always "told" it was a "natural" chocolate, i've tried it before, years ago in CA, but don't know where to find it- you'll have to google it.

I was wondering if anyone has a recipe for spicy choc chip cookies. Ones made with Cayenne pepper? i've tried those before but can't seem to find a recipe for them.

We have tried carob. It's not typically her favorite and often times it still had the milk in it. My main issue is strictly the cost at this point, even carob chips are getting quite spendy! Like everything else I guess. =/

I'll be going to Kroger this weekend for our groceries and I'll look to see if they have any for you.

The one's I saw at Kroger have the above ingredients as well as butter oil and salt. I have another brand here that I haven't used but it does have butterfat in it. I did see some organic ones (surprised to see that!) that said it may contain milk, but I did not see milk or butterfat listed as an ingredient. Those packages are almost $3 each.

Whole Foods or Vitacost.com might have them. Good luck finding them at a decent price.
