Anyone have a scarecrow in their garden this year? Meet my new addition Pippi Longsticking! She was fun to put together with clothes from the thrift shop and yarn braids. I enjoy being greeted by her when I get home from work. And there have been no more critters eating my tomato plants either...maybe a coincidence. I planted some flower seeds around her, a free sample packet I got with my order from Baker Creek. She is waiting patiently for them to grow. Would love to see some other garden friends!

Barb~ I just posted about my chasing a groundhog out of the garden. I think tomorrow I will be making a scarecrow for the garden! Love your Pippi!

How cute! But she's to sweet to scare anything away. Me and the grands are going to make one for my garden next time they come. I'm going to go to Goodwill and see if I can find some overalls.

What a cute...er I mean scary scarecrow. We think she is cute...hopefully the critters will think she is scary!! We'd talked about doing this in the past, but I've completely forgotten about it. Thanks for the inspiration!

Barbara, she's adorable. Is that a purse on her shoulder? You should put a little pot or baggie full of dirt with flower seeds in her purse and water. It would be cute seeing little flowers growing out of her purse. Thanks for sharing...I think I'm going to borrow your cute idea!

Yes we do. You just gave me an idea too. I'll use our twine from the straw and make braids. I love your scarecrow!

Nice to meet you Martha! Love the apron! I planted flower seeds in Pippi's purse. The grandkids(all 8 of them)get a kick out of her. Some say she should have a face..Not sure..

Pippi wanted to show off her flowers!
We've been enjoying the corn behind her too..In front, out of site, we are picking eggplant, lettuce, cukes, tomatoes, brocoli and cabbage.

Oh Barb...Pippi looks so adorable among her flowers and veggies. She has done her Job well!
She looked a little lonely in the first picture! Now she looks bright and happy among her Sun flowers!

Blessings,
peggy
