Do any of you do Bobbin Lace? I have just bought a kit and I don't really understand how it's done. Can anyone help me?

I have a friend who does this. I've watched her a couple of times and mostly it's how you move the bobbins. The lace has to be pinned to something. I think she uses T-pins.
I cannot master those things that I have not tried.
