I am so happy to see honey bees here again. I was worried they were all gone. My yard is covered in clover and this morning there were lots of honey bees buzzing all over it! Such a beautiful sight to see. I love the sound they make too. I would love to see where they are going with all that clover pollen.

And ladybugs galore! All over my tomato plants. I am so happy to see those pretty little black and red bugs hard at work. They are happy to be there too. I remember my dad buying hundreds of them for our gardens. They are such neat little bigs.

What kinds of insects and bees are y'all seeing hard at work in your neck of the woods right now? There are so many good beneficial insects and bugs. I never spray so I hope they are happy here. And feel safe too.

We have mason bees aplenty! We had wanted to make some nest blocks but didn't get around to it, but they must have found their own lodging. There also seem to be a lot of dragonflies, even before the mosquitoes are in full force.

Susan...what exactly are Mason bees? I've seen them advertized..but don't have a clue. About 10 days ago, there was a wild bush with very fragrant white flowers...kinda in a cone like a lilac would be that drew huge huge...did I say huge bumble bees and honey bees. The bumble bees were at least the size of a nickel...bigger even and weighed down the blossoms on which they sat. My lilacs and other flowers had not opened, but within a week, the carragana hedge, lilacs and apple blossoms were hard at it. I had bunches of lady bugs on the same bush...even tiny ones that looked like their babies. Don't know where they are now, but I have found 3 or 4 praying mantis cocoons. Waiting for them.

Claudia, I have seen little tiny mini bees that look like honey bees. Wonder if they are baby bees. I'm going to try looking it up. And I am going to google mason bees too. I would love to find a praying mantis. Haven't seen any yet.
