hi, I got off to a rocky start here some time ago. Then my husband went to be with Jesus 2yrs ago and counting. Then I got a job through no seeking of my own and I am still there and learning new things I never thought I would be able to learn, for which I am very grateful. After trying to keep my home with a lot less income, I finally had to sell it on a shortsale. It took from Dec of 2010 when it originally sold to March of 2011 to get through the process, again I am very grateful. I learned much while I was waiting, mostly that waiting can be and is my friend. In March, our cat Addie and I moved into our first ever apartment. We like it very much and marvel at God's grace and mercy to us. Downsizing would be an understatement but in a good way. Our kids have what they want now and the rest has been given for someone else to use. Now it's just the basics and sooooo freeing, I can't say enough good about doing with less. I am fighting loneliness that has a new definition, one that can't be explained very well. So. here I am checking back in, hoping for a new chance to be a friend and find some in return. thanks...debbie

Howdy Debbie! Yes, God is indeed very good, and we welcome you back with open arms.

I know Sparks and Reno, I claim a small town called Winnemucca as my launchpad into adult life, although I think of Oregon as more of my home state :)

Welcome back Debbie. Sounds like you have what it takes to be a farmgirl at heart.
I lost my husband 14 years ago when I was 40. I understand loneliness. I think I understand what can't be explained very well. I know I am a very different person after dealing with his loss and all that came after. No better or worse, just different. I was even lonely for me while I figured out who the new me was!
I hope you find fast friends here. I know you will find support, laughter and farmgirl fun.

Welcome back Debbie. I hope the road ahead is smoother and brings a new brand of blessing. I know what you mean about less being freeing. I did that once, after a divorce in my 20's. I learned then how nice it can be to have less stuff. Bless you and prayers ans hugs.

Thank you everyone, I appreciate your caring, it is so nice to be welcomed. I'm glad I decided to come back. FieldsofThyme our boy is 46 and our girl is 44 and I have 5 grandchildren, 23,21,17,13,and 10. They live a little away and I see them about every other month. Far enough away but close enough at the same time. Thank you for asking...debbie
