Well, BF and I are taking off for 3 days of camping at a state park about an hour away. We don't dare to go too far, because his mom is in the hospital. The park is only about an hour away, but at least we are getting to go. We just "old fashioned" tent camp with sleeping bags - think they call it "primitive camping" these days! Anyway, will take some pictures and report in when we get home!

Hugs to all - have a great weekend!

I'm jealous! We have only been camping a few times this year, hopefully going again in 2 weeks. Have fun!

This is our first time for the year - hope to go again over the summer. We usually have more time in the spring and fall, though.

Have fun! Think about all your farmgirl sisters while you sit and listen to the fire crackle and pop. ( We have a fire no matter how hot it is.) It's just not camping without a fire!

Hope you had fun! We got home last night from camping, but then we camp almost every weekend year round. We also only travel about an hour and a half from home but it is such a getaway! Those camp recipes in this current issue are delicious! I used many of them over memorial weekend and had raves from folks!

Well girls, I learned a life lesson his weekend. No matter how much you love someone, never ever spend 3 days with them in the woods in a wet tent, wet sleeping bags and soaking wet clothing.

We got there Saturday AM, set up the tent and canopy and went to get firewood. By the time we got back it was drizzling, by the time I wanted to cook supper it was pouring. by the time we went to bed it was a monsoon.

Discovered the tent leaks - woke up in laying in a pool of water. Never got to do any fishing, no campfire (so no marshmallows, etc.) Yesterday we finally went for a drive for a few minutes to turn on the heater in the car and try to dry out a little. We stopped for an ice cream cone. That was the highlight of the 3 days.

Packed up early this AM, came and set up the tent and canopy again to dry it out, and within a few minutes the sun came out and it has been beautiful all the rest of the day = aarrrgghhhhh.

Anyway, this was our first and probably our last camp out for the year - I don't know if our relationship can handle that much "togetherness" again for a long time!

I've had camping trips like that. Hopefully you didn't have any small children with you! That makes for some real fun.
Sorry it was a bust. But don't let it stop you from trying again. The best talks happen sitting by a campfire.
