So where my horse lives now is very close to the mountains and the Yellowstone river is still running really high. A friend that lives just a couple miles from my horse is worried that it will take out the Yellowstone Bridge at Columbus MT. Which means I would have to take about a 30 mile detour to see Tala!! I am really worried about flooding. We have already flooded a lot here in Montana and one of the towns near me is still underwater from one of the rivers jumping it's bank.

This has been an amazing year for weather. It will be interesting to see what happens!

Oh my WORD!!! That looks like a pic you'd see from mid-winter! That is just UN-BE-LIEV-ABLE! I'll be praying for all of you out there, Alee! This weather really is insane... Hugs - Nini

Nini- When it rains it is still snowing up on the mountain. Normally they would have had that road cleared before or by Memorial day and they just barely got the pass cleared this weekend. It's one of the routes into Yellowstone park! Also there is a summer ski area up there that is usually swamped for memorial day with skiers. They haven't been able to open yet this year because of the risk of Avalanche! Right now it is poised for a huge melt off. We are talking 15+ inches of water across the whole mountain that is going to start coming down all at once. We have had a lot of flooding in the lowlands due to the rains last month but this could be 100 times worse because those are BIG mountains!

What? Oh my goodness gracious! That is crazy. Although I think I might like to see that here right about this week. It's in the mid 90's all week with NO chance of rain at all. SOme snow sounds pretty darn good right now.

Wow! First of all, what a beautiful place to live, but secondly, I need to move there! It's already been over 90 and very humid here in Pittsburgh and can't take the heat! Hope all is well with you changing your school schedule. HOpe you're feeling better.

Oh Alee

We are dealing with the same here in Colorado - they just got several of the high mountain passes cleared but now we too have the 90 degree weather and massive run off. I have several dear friends who have sand baged their homes and had to leave mean while here on the plains we are in high fire danger and getting chocked out with the fire smoke. All we can do is pray things get calmer and have emergency plans in place. Stay safe and dry.

Tanya- I would expect this more in your part of the world since you get so much moisture. We normally only get 15 inches of precipitation a year. In some places the snowpack is 300% more than normal!

Um...woah! I have been looking at moving out to the Billings area after I get done with school (I used to go fly fishing out there every summer and LOVE it!) but I think you may have just changed my mind! Haha!

WOW! I can't imagine. It's been in the upper 90's here. My temp on my computer says 99 - with a heat index of anywhere from 105 to 115 for the past (and coming) week. It's too hot to breathe and you can literally see the humidity in the air. I can't imagine snow period - much less THAT much snow. I hope you enjoy what you can!

Alee, John and I were up on the Beartooth Highway last Saturday. Yes, the snow is very deep on top. I know from past years towards the second pass the snow depth will even be higher. I am really looking forward to getting a cross the whole Beartooth Highway.

The scenery was just breath taking. We had our first dinner in the woods this year just below the Fork Lake turn off. The run off has just started up in the top of the canyon and the streams are just starting to pickup again.

I told my husband I want to go kayaking...he said I have to wait for the run off to finish.

Alee, we were safe. The sirens went off as I was going to sleep last night. That was not a good feeling. I figured that they were just warning us to get inside and take cover. Sorry for the couple of homes that were damaged last night by the tornadoes that came down in the area. Glad you were safe through.

I am glad that you were safe Madelynne- I know you have that nice basement so I wasn't too worried about you, but it's always good to hear just incase you weren't at home!
