Sounds like you need to adjust to things that actually fit and that is a process for sure. Could you take someone with you shopping that can help you see if what you are trying on really fits? That helped me when I lost a lot of weight and didn't know how to dress the smaller me. There has been a thread active today talking about Tractor Supply clothes and jeans. Have you looked there? They can special order sizes they don't carry or if they are out of your size if it is available. Just a thought! Connie

I actually have a great deal of luck at thrift shops like Goodwill! Try a lot of different sizes too, sometimes what you think is your size isn't, like I just bought a skirt that is 4 sized smaller than I usually wear, but it fits great (and was a great self-esteem boost!).

Suzie, I know how you feel. They just don't make cute clothes for bigger women. I look horrible in those cute tiered skirts but I love them. And there aren't many cute bigger clothes at the thrift stores either. Unless ya want to wear a tent. So I just wear jeans and t's most of the time. And the short pants.

My closet lives by Ross's stores. I'm a size 24 and I can always find a dress or top I like in my size for 10$ or less every time I look for fun, good quality department store clothes too, not walmart and target rejects. This year, I decided I own too many solid black shirts and dresses, so I go in now with the goal of finding something with a new shape or some color.

I like CJ Banks, I think........there is two of them, one is another name (their sister store) one is for plus size and one is for regular size. They sometimes have western type blouses I really like!

I like CJ Banks too. I found you have to be careful of the cut. Some of the tops for us plus size women are cut so square. CJ banks has a cut, I think they call it "modern cut", that is a little more close fitting without looking too tight. You can get on their email list and sometimes they have great sales.

I find many shirts at Tractor Supply for plus sized women. I wear a 22-24. Also you can do a web search for plus sized women farm ranch clothing and find some. It all depends on your budget. Good luck.

O' sister don't get me started! I look for tall shirts, just because everything is just cut too short now a days.

lol and see I ind the opposite Lorraine. lol Every thing is to long for me. lol I look for short. I'm very short and long shirts look like night gowns on me. On the other hand, what is up with dresses? I bought some maternity dresses and they are all right above the knee on me. UHG. I feel half naked! The thing is, all I keep thinking while wearing them is on a regular woman these would be up to her booty! I'm only 4 foot 8 inches tall. Most women are at least 5 foot! So another 4 inches, would make these literally mid thigh, really at 8 months pregnant you want a dress that is midthigh? WEIRD! And then if you are over 5 foot I'm thinking God help you on these dresses! I am not understanding it at all!
