Came home from the grocery store this morning to find the washing machine had broken down in mid-cycle. My husband called the repairman (after fiddling around with it for half an hour, pretending to know what he was doing ), and he can't get out to fix it until Friday. Then, just to make today extra-special, the cat threw up on my bedsheets, and - of course - I have no washing machine. So tonight I'll be stomping our laundry and barfy bedsheets in the bathtub like a vintner stomping grapes!

So sorry Jessie, seems like today just is not a good day for some of us farmgirls.
Tomorrow is a new day so it will all be much better.
Hang in there and keep smiling.
I washed my cell phone this morning in the wash machine and we have no land line. Cell phone is clean but it does not work anymore. Gotta laugh, it is funny if I do not laugh I will cry.
All will be well.
Farmgirl Hugs,
Debbie

And it's great when the cat throws up on the rug and you step in it!! Is there a laundry mat close? Rather than the stomping session?

Jessie, I'm sorry things are tough! Hard days are extra tiring aren't they? You poor thing.I'm sure thing will pick up, like Debbie said, tomorrow is a new day! Like Carole asked, is there a laundry mat close? Might be a pain, but less work than the stomping in the tub...

The tears I shed then, watered the flowers I harvest now.

Oh Jessie!
I feel your pain!
2 years ago, my elderly Great Dane (think horse poops) was lame & having diarrhea on her bedding. THe dryer was broken & it was raining so I was trying to dry bedding all through the house.
I could not get that smell out of my nose for weeks.

Oh Jessie I am so sorry - those things never seem to come at the right time but then is there ever a right time?? I guess today was not the best day for us gal - the wind here was so bad again and while trying to check out one of my little goat boys who got hit with a flying log that was holding down the hay tarp I got clocked in the face with another piece of timber being picked up by the wind. I am sitting here with my left eye shut and looking like a battered wife - luckly it is just me so no one can think that but I think we all need to pour a stiff drink and go to bed early.... Hang in there - tomorrow is Wednesday - got to be better.

Okay Grace that stiff drink sounds wonderful. I am so sorry you got hit in the eye, my gosh it has to hurt. Are you sure you are all right and do not need to be check out?
Oh my gosh I think we will all be thankful when tomorrow gets here.
Sleep well everyone and we will compare notes tomorrow.

Jessie, wow...it seems like Farm Girls are getting sideswiped!! We have two cats and my hubby would soooo commiserate with you. He gets so bent out of shape when they throw up on the rug. What is it about bed sheets? I went in yesterday to work on the front bedroom (guest) and was moving decorative pillows and one of those kitties had thrown up who knows when on the comforter between the pillows!! arrgghh. I guess if we're gonna have 'em we gotta love 'em. :-)

No Worries - I can not count how many times I have been hit in the head - maybe that is why it is mush - no it is because of birthing season, bottle kids and wind... I am O.K. but my oldest has promised to call me every two hours and I guess I am working thru the night just so I have no worry about a head injury. I do have to say the swelling has pushed out my wrinkles under my left eye - cheap face lift for a farm girl but it sure does make the other sides wrinkles look even deeper. Got to find a silver lining..

Good, I am so happy your son will be checking on you, have to be so careful with head injuries, you just never know.
Painful way to get rid of wrinkles don't you think? Do not try and hit the other side to make it all even:-)
Have a good night Grace.
