Hi everyone,

Another Farm Girl and I were talking about farmers' market tips the other day, so I thought I would throw the same topic out to the group.

For those who are vendors at farmers' markets, can you pass on a few tips for drawing customers to your booth?

An atractive display that looks the same every week so people can recogize you from week to week , Samples ,Signs that explain special varieties or identfy unusual vegetables. Pictures of the farm, Free recipes, Speaking to people as they go by, Standing or sitting at a high stool so you can look them eye to eye. If you sell crafts etc you could be doing it as a demo ( I some times braid garlic ). Wear something memorable Hat etc ( I wear garlic earrings That is a conversation started every week for me)If you have kids let them help at your booth. click this link to see some of my farmers market displays http://home.bellsouth.net/p/s/community.dll?ep=331&folderid=246284&groupid=140532&folderview=thumbs&ck=

Natalie, ooo ooo ooo, I love your display. I do need to order some garlic from you!!! I also need to tell my aunt about your garlic as she lives in Greensboro.

Natalie, your displays and garlic are both beautiful. I haven't done the farmer's market thing, but I think that a full, well organized display is always attractive. I used to work in a grocery store and the thought was always that people will keep moving past a display that's not well stocked.
