ok we are getting rid of the tv, plus we have a lot of storms here that knock out electric, so two reasons why I want a radio. I am highly considering this one cause it has a AC adapter which will be good on the daily basis of replacing the tv. And it seems to take up very little electric since it only needs 4 AA batteries to run with out the adapter.

I'm also considering this for a back up- http://www.kmart.com/shc/s/p_10151_10104_10400000SB7803PBP?mv=rr
Any one here have experience with either one of these models?
Later when they come out with one with all the features I want (basically one I can upload MP3's to) I will invest in a more expensive reproduction of a larger radio. Now they just have ones you can plug your Ipod into and I don't really want that. I wouldn't mind if they would make one that would just take a SD card or stick memory though, I would for sure invest in one of those. I figure in a few years Crosley will surely make one!

Hi Heather, we havent had a family tv for years. In fact, the only reason why we did have tvs at all was to play Wii or PS games and stuff. We never watch it.
Most of the time, I just google everything I need to know, though the radio is a good idea. I like the vintage looking one. :)

Now, that we havent had one, I hate the noise of the tv, like if I am in someone's house they have it on, I cant stand the noise for some reason.
Unless... I am the one watching tv. But even then, I dont have up very loud.

yeah I almost got one of those but my grandpa and mom said that they only last about 30 to 40 minutes, but the more you use them, and wind them that amount of time decreases all the time, till you are down to having to crank every 10 minutes or less. I guess it would be good for exercise, but I think would get tiring fast! lol But, that was for sure my first thought, until they informed me on such! lol haha

The kids loved using it, although we really bought it for the disaster kit. I am sure the cranking put a toll on it.
