I love the old clawfoot tubs on the decks and in the yards that Mary Jane's book features...I believe it is in her Outpost book. Has anyone tried doing this and heating the water?

My father in law has got one that he says I can use (a heater, that is) I just need a clawfoot tub and some privacy!

I don't have a heater under mine I just run a hose from the water heater for now. I can't find anything with a small clearance.

When I was little we used old tubs as watering troughs for the horses, we had a couple of old claw foot tubs at the time. I used to really enjoy going swimming in them during summer.

When we were building our new home, my friend used one for her horses too and she let me have it to restore and now it is in our bathroom with clawfeet on it and new porcelien was sprayed on. It looks great and it is fun to take a bath in.
