Hey farmgirls! I just bottled a batch of natural insect repellant. Smells great too! Bug Off! Insect Repellant Mist - A natural and effective insect repellent. Safe for children & DEET free! Spray on hair, skin & clothes. Re-apply every two hours. Use for Children ages 3 and up. Springwater, Witch Hazel, Lavender, Lemon Balm, Catnip, Pure organic essential oil blend of Cedarwood, Lavender, Lemon

Lindsay, would that be good for horses too? I've about had it with the horse flies and deer flies during the day...then the army of mosquitoes at night. UGGGH! |

Balancing Act- It sure does! :)
But here is a simple recipe you can make at home to try.
Insect Repellant for Horses 2 cups light mineral oil 1/2 cup lemon juice 2 tsp. citronella oil 2 tsp. eucalyptus essential oil 2 tsp. lemon dish soap
Combine all ingredients in a spray bottle. Label. To use gently shake and spray on your horse avoiding his eyes.
