Hi There! I'm a long time reader of Mary Jane's Farm, but new to the message boards, chat rooms, and blogs. Wow, what a wealth of information from such a great group of ladies! It's exactly what I need for in between issues of the hard copy magazine. So...why just stopping here now??? Slow learner, I guess. Thanks to all for being here!

Welcome from a fellow PA farmgirl! Where is Oakmont? I'm in Cresco up in the Pocono Mountains in the Northeast part of the state. I'm sure you'll enjoy it here as much as I do!

Welcome from another newbie---whose trying to learn the ropes around here! Mostly I am a stalker at the moment. SO much information and such busy days for me.
Well, hope you find your fit! Where is Oakmont? I am about 45 west of Scranton just south of the Narrowsburg, NY border :0). |

Hey Donna -
I was in Narrowsburg last weekend - took my Mom for a ride up the Delaware, over thru Lackawaxen, etc. - nice drive, but nasty weather! We also went up over the Hawks Nest, but it was really foggy up there - darn!

Welcome Kathleen! Like you I was a long time reader, but slow to get on and participate in chats, but now I find it rather addicting
You will love it here and as you said, there is just so much information to glean while waiting for the next magazine, plus it makes you feel so much more connected with women of like minds and hearts!!
@ Donna: It doesn't sound like we're to far from one another. I'm up in the Binghamton, NY area and Scranton is about 45 min from here. So I guess you could say we are kind of neighbors

We're sort of neighbors then too! I'm in Cresco, PA which in a directly line is between Scranton and Stroudsburg (near Mt. Pocono).

Hi Luanne!
Maybe we could plan a meet up with any other farm girls that might be in and around our general area. I know there are a couple of other girls right in my area, but no active chapters. It would be fun to meet some of the other ladies that are on this forum. Not sure where we could meet or how to pull it together, but I think if work on it we could come up with something. What do you think?

Sounds good to me, but my weekends are insane, so it might have to be late afternoon or early evening during the week.

Hi Kate, thank you for the warm welcome. I think you're right--this is the perfect spot all the time, but especially for after I've read the last page of MJF for the third time. The thing I love most about the magazine is that I CAN"T read it all at once. I might page through it the first time, enjoying the photos and the headlines, but it's the going back in for all the articles and essays that I adore.
