Hey ya'll, I dont know if this is the place to tell about this, but I couldn't find anywhere else. I get to spend a week in Maryland this summer at the National Federation of the Blind Youth Slam. I am a teacher of students who are blind and visually impaired, and this camp offfers experiences in science, math, engineering, and technology. These areas often seem to be impossible to teach to students with visual impaiorments, thus they do not pursue careers in these fields. I get to spend a week learning how to help my students achieve in these areas. I am sooooo excited!!!!

Wow, Sylvia...what an awesome opportunity! Hope you enjoy every minute of the camp and learn lots of new ways to present the information to your students.

Silvia- That is wonderful! I hope you have a wonderful time and learn amazing things! I have a childhood friend that is heavily visually impaired due to a deap brain tumor on her pituitary gland. She gradually lost her sight to the point where she has had a couple seeing eye dogs now. She works for the IRS! I think that blind and visually impaired kids should be encouraged to reach for the stars. You are a wondeful person to be so involved in their lives and helping so much! :)

Happy to be a "Raggedy Ann" in a Barbie World!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.
