Last weekend, things were so busy. We'd just finished painting the outside of our home, and my best friend got a new place. We decided to go stay with her, and help her with our trucks. My oldest son was away, and after church we took my man's and grandma out to lunch. It was a good and very busy day, but I felt like I got lost, and I'm a mama too! I didn't really say anything, but I think my DH noticed. Fast-forward to yesterday...when I got up, so did everyone else! That never happens. I walked back to the kids rooms about an hour after they ate breakfast, and found their rooms clean. I started my Saturday bakin, and my DH said "don't pull anything out for dinner" that usually means he's cookin. About 2 O'clock he packed the dogs up, put the kids in my truck, and said let's go. We drove to the beach! We spent hours running with my puppies, and my four kids. We made sandcastles, buried each others feet... they we went to my favorite "kid friendly" restaurant in town, all damp, cold and sandy.
When we got home, I needed to finish up the baking, and my DH and lil ones went out back. I put the bread in the oven, and went to see what they were up to. My DH had started a fire, and the kids all had blankets and were cuddled up on the chairs waiting for me. Even my 13 yo was involved and sittin next to me! It was just barely starting to sprinkle, and was just an added bit of fun to the night.
I would be hard-pressed to recall a better day. I just had to brag and say how thankful I am for my sweet DH and lil ones, and how wonderful my surprise belated mothers day was &hearts
The tears I shed then, watered the flowers I harvest now.
