Hi Jackie - what do you want to know about Lavender? Lavender likes full sun exposure and free-draining soil with minimal organic matter and little if any fertilizer. There are certain varieties that are preferred for culinary, herbal, aromatic and ornamental purposes. Lavender is native to the Mediterranean region. It is a perennial that often dies back to the ground in cool winter areas but usually grows back again in the spring from roots or seeds unless the plants aren't hardy in your area. Lavender can be grown in beds or containers. Hope this helps. If not let us know what your questions are so they get answered!

Cheers! ~ Marilyn

Jackie, I have a landscape business so I plant and maintain alot of lavender in residential and commercial settings. I normally purchase plants from a nursery so I don't have much personal experience with propagating it. But, there is a post in this forum from a few weeks back about lavender that has some excellent information about propagating lavender from cuttings. Look for the topic "Dividing Lavender" and scroll down to about the middle for a link. Hope this helps!

Cheers! ~ Marilyn

Jackie,
I was wondering the same thing. Looks pretty easy to root from cuttings. Here's a site the shows you how http://www.what-about-lavender.com/propagate_lavender.html. I'm going to try to get some cuttings started this weekend.
