I'm Felicia, Lisa Marie's daughter. I was on here quite a while ago under Radar_Fish, but after trying every possible password I could think of, I couldn't get in with any luck.

Anyway, It's been two years since then, and I'm now almost twenty-one, part Navajo, and an archaeologist student at the University of Idaho with a minor in German and elementary education. I'm a beginner in beadwork, I enjoy spoiling my niece and nephew, biking, camping, and being in nature in general, and I'm trying to stay away from preservatives, as I'm allergic to most of them and dyes as well, yet because I'm in college, I tend to go half and half on organic and processed foods... even if it means I'll be sick all night.

If only I had paid attention in my mother's garden! As a teenager, I didn't really care... at least until shortly before I turned eighteen. But now I really wanna learn how to grow my own food so I can stop being sick!

Can't wait to get to know you all and learn from you!

~Felicia~

A big Hoosier hello, Felicia! Wow! You are one busy young lady! You will love it here. All the ladies on this site are a bunch of busy bees crafting one thing or another, teaching one another, and just having a grand sisterly time. I love it!

Hello! And welcome to the farm. You were talking about being sick when you eat. Is it certain foods that make you ill? Do you have celiac disease? (alergic to wheat) I know that it can be hard and expensive to eat healthy in these times. But with a little effort and gumption you can do it. Start a small garden. There is nothing like seeing the little seeds or plants begin to grow and produce. Keep it simple and you will learn along the way.

Thanks, you guys! I'm really happy to be here, and I've already collected some household tips ;)

And Debra, no, I'm not allergic to wheat at all. I'm perfectly fine if I eat all natural or organic foods. It's the processed foods with all of those chemicals and dyes that make me so ill! For the longest time, my mom thought I was lactose intolerant because I would get sooo sick from ice cream or dishes that had (and still have) commercial milk or other dairy products in it. Then she switched me to organic milk, and now I love the stuff. Every time I taste commercial milk, it tastes like it's gone bad. Yuck. We got the same results with other foods, too, and that's how we figured it out, plus with some help of our nurse practitioner in town. I'm working on trying to get off preservatives completely, but being in college, it's kind of hard!

Thanks, Laurie! And actually, I've had the pleasure of meeting MJ a couple of times now :) She was even nice enough to let my mother and I stay at her farm during Vandal Friday, an orientation program for incoming students. I got to see her cows (of which I sang to one day while out there LOL) and her chickens, which one of the roosters seemed angry at me lol.

And thanks, Alee :) It's great to be back here, and no, classes don't get out until the thirteenth. So I'm kind of stressing over here about finals and homework that still needs to be turned in!

Welcome Felicia! I am from Santa Cruz, CA. I am also alergic to dyes, preservatives and scents. This is what brought me to a more natural lifestyle. It can be dificult to stay away from these things, but you will learn what you can eat with time. Sorry for asking, but who is Lisa Marie?

Oh, I'm sorry, Rebekah! My mom--Lisa Marie--used to be on here all the time, and she makes gourd/pine needle baskets. But now that she has a Facebook, and all of her farmgirl friends are on Facebook, she hardly comes here anymore!

And yeah, I know what you mean, and even though I've been testing what I can and can't have for the past six years, I still run into those bad foods that don't agree with me. Maybe another two more years will finally eliminate all of that yucky food.
