I went tot Goodwill looking for sheets I could make into curtains , did find some too, but my daughter came over saying mom you gotta see this. there was a shelf of original Hardy Boys books from the 50's..she loves Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys they were priced at $1 a piece I bought her 26 of them ! we were both so excited over a find like that fun !

It really doesn't get much better than that. My daughter collects Bobsy Twins books and sometimes you just feel like the reading fairies are smilin' on you. Great deal! Of course, she won't be doing anything this summer but reading. Wish I could join her..even for just a few books. Joey

Thrift stores are great. I didn't know Nancy Drew was collectable. If I see any CJ I will get them for you.

That is so cool we actually got all of our Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys out of the garbage can you imagine throwing away a complete set of book Crazy people but I am glad they did because their junk was our treasure. We also made a super find at the salvation army 58 unused sewing patterns for 10 bucks.
Always be on the look out you never know what you will find.

Nancy that would be awesome, My daughter is the one who loves them still, she just turned 21, I remember them from when I was young and she just relates to nancy I guess, but it was exciting. Mari-lyn I am so jealous of all those sewing patterns you came across, I miss the flea markets from back home, this area doesn't really have them like that so this is the next best thing. my own treasure hunt for sure

I was the kid you never saw without a book in her hands. I am so excited when someone makes a great find! I read all the ND books as a child and can't wait for GD to be old enough for them. I have the Bobsy Twins books to read to her first. She is a bit rough and tumble so I may need to find some Hardy Boys books!

my daughter always has a book with her even now while she is in college she still reads a lot, one librarian used to make remarks about us being there all the time til I told her my kids were A and B students and three of them are going to college on academic scholarships, and if they didn't come get books all the time, she might not be working there...she didn't have much to say after that
