I was reading about our Henrietta hen logo and in my random brain, remembered a few discussions I've had about premenopause, menopause, etc. My mind put these together somehow and I remembered this:

One day, a farmer went out to gather eggs from his best and most reliable hen, Red. He took the egg in from that morning and cracked it for breakfast. But instead of a lovely yolk, there were 3 pennies! He shrugged his shoulders and figured he was still tired and went back for a nap. After a while, he got up and went on with his day. The next morning, he went for his morning egg from Red, brought it in, cracked it for breakfast, and what do you know - he got 20 cents in nickels. By now, farmer has decided to call a vet if it happens one more time. So, the next morn, he goes to Red, gets the egg, cracks it, and gets 2 dimes and a quarter! So, understandably upset, Farmer calls the vet and tells her about Red's money eggs. "Oh, well that's nothing to worry about," the vet told Farmer. "Red's just going through her change!"

Well, maybe Red was just looking for some gas money the way it is nowadays...Anyhow, bad joke that it is, I still thought it was cute enough to share! Who doesn't need a laugh now and then?!

Well, I sure did and I still am! That is too funny. Thank you so much. I will have to remember this to tell my mom and hubby.

Have to say, I agree with you all! I'd love to use a goat cart too! And yeah, bigger bills in an egg or as a product of "the change" would be great right about now!

Thanks for that great one - needed that today. I hope I will remember this one to share with my sons...
I sure do wish my girls would consider laying some change because they sure eat up enough of my coins.. They give great eggs (blue and green) but no one will pay me what it costs to raise them.

Cute. I'll have to share with DH, and my mama, who is going through the change too, she will get a kick out of it.

The tears I shed then, watered the flowers I harvest now.
