I have 6 americana chicks 2 have light heads and 2 have dark heads, and two came from a completely different breeder and they are about a month behind the other 4.
It seems I have pairs that look alike.
That being said, How old do they have to be before you can figure out their sex?
I read about sexing chicks and how inaccurate it was, even the ABC breeder told me the same thing.

Usually roosters are bigger, have thicker legs and more of a comb--but not always. We had two last year that my husband, mom and myself all swore were roosters because they were so much bigger than the others, had thicker legs and more of a comb-- until they started laying eggs, lol.

The theory we use is that the hens will start to grow their tail feathers first....even at 3 weeks old . So far it's worked.
