I just finished a nursing shawl and am getting ready to make the matching baby blanket.

Then I want to make a throw for my Mom.

Pictures of the shawl are on my blog.

What are you working on?

a church group is doing prayer shawls for cancer patients. So that's what I am doing. They want pink and blue. I have a hard time doing pink for women and blue for men. So, my pinks and blues are not pastels, and the yarns are v e r y soft. I am working on my third.

I am also working on another shawl. This one is with a gold ladder yarn. I don't know exactly what I am going to do with them, This is my third shawl this week. Probably sell, barter or give away. I am practicing getting the "triangle" right as I am terrible at trying to read patterns.

I'm making hats right now for newborns and I'm working on a scarf for my forensics coach as a little thank you gift. I would also like to start making baby booties and chemo caps to donate to my local cancer center.

Angie, what is gold ladder yarn? Also, I haven't tried a triangle yet. So, I envy you..keep practicing! I want to look at a you tube tutorial to see if I can teach myself to do the triangle. Good luck!

Am working on a vintage doilie pattern titled "Point Harmony". I love the elegance and grace of a thread doily and find all sort of uses for them.

THe ladder yarn is like this:
____________________________________
____[[[[______[[[[[_______[[[[[______

Well... as best as one can "type" yarn. It's two think strings along the edge with a rectangle flake in the middle with a space then a flake then a space. Maybe really more like string than actual yarn??? It's pretty but kind of a pain to work with.

I gave up tryin gto figure out the triangle from the top down and am doing it from the point up. I started with 3-5 stitches in one then add an extra stitch on the end of each row. It's been working pretty well.

One of these days I really need to learn to read patterns. =/

I just finished this little guy up this weekend. :) My husband thinks I am his own person toy crocheter now. It's a great little pattern..Super Easy! I was thinking of starting a pattern every Friday night, but Hubby thinks that when he gets home from work, that there should be something newly crocheted waiting for him. LOL So spoiled! :P

Thanks for the description of ladder yarn, Angie. Now, I know what you mean. I haven't made a triangular shawl yet..but am getting closer to understanding the mechanics of it.

Jessie, where did you find that pattern? I watched Despicable Me and I fell in love with the minions! I would love to make one of these for myself and my cousin! With summer coming I'll have plenty of time. Right now I'm finishing up some hats for Knit 1, Bless 2. I really want to branch out into larger hats soon to sell.

Hey everyone,

I just came back on after being away for a few months. Right now I'm working on an 8 color granny square afghan and a continuous granny afghan that you crochet around and around. Both are coming out really nice. Now, I just have to find someone to give them to.
hugs

I love your hats Stacy. Everyone's work looks nice. I'm working on a shrug from one of the free patterns from Lion Brand yarn. I'm working on the knitting badge so I've put the crochet down for a little bit. I definitely like crocheting over knitting.

I am finishing up my filet crochet table topper. My next thing to finish is the scarf with the hexagons in the Stitching Room. I have just a few more left then I need to attach them. I learned to do an afghan stitch (tunisian, very easy)and I am making a pot holder.
I just learned to knit recently, but havent really got into it. I did make a couple of dish rags though.

I am just learning crochet right now, after being a knitter for many years. I picked up a book from the library the other day the is from the early 80's that is all different kinds of granny squares. Oh my! A granny square apron? I'm in!
