Nora brings home so much ADORABLe paperwork from school. I hate to give it or throw it away, but at the same time it is starting to pile up in various corners. So I am thinking of starting a scrap book for Nora. Has anyone done this for a child in Preschool? Do they ever look at it again? :)

I have made scrapbooks for all four kids all the way thru school, keeping awards, artwork, pictures and some of their academic work. they love looking at them and speaking from middle age, you tend to want to look back as you get older and they will appreciate the memories. go ahead and scrapbook away ! |

I think making the scrapbook is a great idea. Time goes by so quickly. My daughter is in her 20s and I still, once in a while, love to look at her drawings and stuff fro when she was younger. Also, as your children have children the scrapbooks become an heirloom!

I love it! I would also include pics or post cards from any of their field trips, etc, as well. I think if you just keep the very best ones, or most memorable ones it would be a sweet gift to her later in life.

Some people I know say that they take digital photos of the work/homework, etc...and then put it on a disc and save on their hard drive. For me, that's simply not tangible enough and it goes against every "old fashioned" bone in my body. If you look in my closets, you'll see my "time machine" of keepsake boxes of our lives, so I'm all for a scrapbook. I think it's a great way to save stuff, Alee, though I have to admit, opening the box that Justin's mother gave me when we got married to find "macaroni art" was pretty darn special :)

My mom made a scrapbook for me. It had all my awards, end of year report cards, and all the grade and stickers corner of each paper in it. Each school year was marked with a picture of me and the teacher and my class photo along with a little title announcing the year and grade.
I still have it. I don't look through it much, but my girls have each had a peak at it.

Thanks for all the ideas! I will have to have Nora help me. I can have her put her handprint for every month or so- so she can see her hand get bigger and bigger. I think this will be fun!
