Our newest barn cat, Joey, was bit by a stray that came around last year. His tail is in very bad shape. We have him inside, and hope to get him to a vet. I am pretty sure he needs antibiotics. I may have to house the 3 barn cats inside the garage, and set a trap for this male cat that won't leave.

Kristina, how's the cat? You might want to try some aloe gel and turmeric. I use it on all cuts and wounds on the animals and us. I make a paste and spread it on the wound. It has antibacterial and antiviral properties and all kinds of other good things. It really heals a wound very fast. I hope he is better soon. I have 6 cats, all fixed. And there have been 2 old stray tom cats that would come around to eat. They would hiss at me and the other cats would run away from them. They finally both disappeared. I was glad. But living way out here people drop cats off all the time.

We have the same problem-we've lost two cats (We think) to fights with strays. I've heard good things about ferilestat...

Thank you for your tips on cleaning his tail. We now have a live trap, and just have to bring in all the barn cats to trap him.

There was a big ad in Countryside about that ferelstat. My mom had hundreds of ferel cats at her place in S. Ga. and I kept meaning to get some for her. I wish you luck in catching all your cats, Kristina. And getting rid of the bad cat. I hope Joey is doing well today.

How is Joey doing? Did you catch the bad cat yet?

Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things. ~ Robert Brault
