I had two wisdom teeth pulled yesterday. The dentist found one tooth was pretty infected and the other one was getting a foothold.

I'd been having headaches and noticed when I flossed, they would lighten up.

I'm a flosser and brusher of the first order. Anywho, the dentist said teeth infections are very serious. It was a good thing I got them out.

Didn't know about the infection, just that I hadn't been feeling very well but chalked it up to my age and other things.

So, maybe if all else fails, if you're not feeling well, have your teeth checked.

I got antibiotics and painkillers and already today am feeling much better. Slight headache but my body has had a shock so think it's normal. Overall, much better.

I am petrified to have my wisdom teeth pulled! I have been dealing with "issues" for about 12 years now. I suffer such terrible headaches and I know it can be attributed to the wisdom teeth--I'm just such a wimp when it comes to my teeth!
I think your post is my wakeup call to get them taken out. It's time.
Thanks Winona, I'm glad that you are starting to feel better!

Infected teeth can lead to strokes. I have known 2 men both in their 60's that had strokes while having infected teeth . One was lucky the stroke was mild. The second had a massive stroke and died. Having wisdom teeth pulled is no picnic, but the infection is pretty scary .

Seriously kids,

This is why vets push hard for pet teeth to be cleaned. And the same for people. Infection can go system wide and can affect the heart and kill!

Please don't take abcesses or tooth problems lightly!

So I too second Susan. Winona, I'm glad your issue is resolved

Feeling much better, I can't tell you how much!

Still have some pain from the infected toothhole but it's slowly subsiding.

Overall, I feel more alert and lighter. Getting the gunk out has helped.

The dentist has meds to make this a breeze. I told him what a weenie I am and we actually talked it all out and it wasn't quite as bad as I envisioned. Just sucked up and did it. The thought of keeping the bad teeth outweighed the short time I'm on the mend.
