Yesterday I did a lot of baking and decided to get a sourdough starter going. Put all the ingredients in a glass jar, set it on the counter, and went about doing other things not in the kitchen. My son went in the kitchen about half hour later and said "Mom, something in here is leaking." I was thinking fridge or something like that and went in the kitchen to see my starter exploding all over the counter. You could say it worked really well. Transfered to a larger glass jar and left it again. Well of course half hour later it exploded again. Transfered again and it still grew but didn't explode out of the jar. This morning it looks and smells marvelous. Can't wait to use it.

Don't put a tight lid on it or you might have a glass explosion! LOL Tell us how it turns out.

two cups flour, two cups warm water, 1 Tbsp yeast, 1 Tbsp sugar. Mixed it together and boom. It has settled now.

All the recipe says is let it sit for five days, stir it once a day. When you use it add equal parts of flour and water. This particular recipe worked for me once before and I got a couple loaves out of it and then it died so now I'm trying it again. Last time it didn't have such a crazy reaction when I first put it together. So this Saturday I will try to make a loaf of sourdough.

Thanks so much for posting this, I will get to work soon on my own starter when I get a bowl to keep it in.
