Does anyone use this? We just bought- and installed yesterday- a 164' electric poultry netting. At first I was freaking out thinking the girls were going to fly into it, get tangled up and die. However, hubby and I pretty much stayed close to them all day, and they were fine. They LOVE it!!!! And, it was so easy to set up, and will be to move. I know we just have to keep grass away from the bottom charged wire.
We are thinking of getting another 164' section for them(26 hens and 1 rooster) to keep them happy.
And, we are thinking of getting the sheep/goat netting for our golden retrievers. 3 sections which would give them lots of room to roam.
It's hard to find much information, even thought it's been around for awhile. I know it is used a lot more in Europe. I have not seen one negative aspect, really all positive reviews.

Brenda, is it the Premier fencing? I bought one but never got a charger. Then I sold it to a friend and she used it for a long time for her hens. I just don't see what keeps them from just flying over. It;s only a few feet high. I could see it working for sheep or dogs. But not chickens. But it does work for them. I might have to invest in some more to make my pasture into 4 quarters for my sheep I am getting soon. It's only about $100.00 for the '164 section, right? It was when I bought it.

Kristin, yes, it's the Premier fencing. And, no, it doesn't keep some of them from flying over!! We have 2 persistent flyers who can clear the fence no problem.... it doesn't matter that they have more than enough room for all of them, those 2 like to be out in the apple orchard, where they can't be(rat poison). They are both getting nicely clipped wings tomorrow, lol! Other than that it is working really good, and I will go ahead and get some for the dogs too.
We just paid $180.00 for the 164' fence, so the price has gone up, but I hear the quality is better now. You can check Kencove, they sell a good quality fence too, but have the sheep fencing for 139.99 for 164'. We will probably go with them, since we are going to be buying so much.

We have been using electric netting from Kencove for years. We love it. Without it, the foxes would surely be feasting on our chickens more often.
We currently have about 100 egg layers who for the most part don't fly over. (We have a few different heights of fencing.) We also raise 500 or so meat birds a year and keep them safe with electric netting. There is no danger of them flying out because they are fat.
My family also uses it on camping trips to keep the bears out of the food trailer.

Hey Brenda,
I have the Premier fence also. I have had it for 2 years and love it! I bought the 320+ feet and so far so good, except for the hawk which took a couple of hens last year. But they are bigger this year so he'd need a hoist! I have 27 hens and luckily no one flys over...could be a weight issue! The resident rabbit seems to have no problem getting in and spending time with the hens. Other than that it has kept out anyone I don't want near the coop. Have fun...I sure do love my chickens...and my Newfoundlands!!...Take care...Debbie
