Here in Mountain View, AR, I work at the Ozark Folk Center. What is great about working there is that we have a soap maker, so I can conveniently buy natural soap. We have an expert in herbs with many herb plants available for purchase and workshops in how to use them. We have woodworkers, jewelry makers, weavers & spinners plus sheep & goats, & a lot of experts in using natural materials. It is great to be around creative people who believe in natural living. I sure won't use the drug store soaps any more after using lye soap.

I second this. My mother in the city hates hearing about milking goats and making soap. But it makes me so warm and fuzzy when I complete it. I love talking about gardening and plant rotation, and now my dad thinks I have gone nuts. But when I am in the country and spend time with all my country friends, I feel more at home than arranging late morning teas in a cookie cutter neighborhood in suburbia. Not that I don't enjoy the occasional tea with my country friends, but we talk about so much more interesting things than the gossip of the street.

I love the fact that I don't have to hear traffic every morning! I hear birds, frogs, turkeys, cattle...while I like visiting the city, I'm not "meant" for it anymore. :) I like my country living, thank you very much!

Starbucks and sushi to green fried tomatoes and corn pudding-I wouldn't change it for the world.
