We love McMurry but our finances are not up to that or buying a new incubator, an ol'farmer told us to just put the eggs in a box with a heat lamp and turn them but that seems kind of iffy...We heat the house with our wood stove so how would we get the right humidity? I would hate to have the chicks suffer because of my ignorance.I was wondering if any one in our area had an incubator we could borrow or trade the use of?We have great chickens but they are not inclined to sit.

Me too. I had 32 eggs in one and somehow forgot to put water in the bottle for the humidity. Not a very good thing. I am glad you found one to use so you can have some cute little fuzzy babies soon.
