Hello Farmgirl Friends,

It has been awhile since I have posted on the forum....have been busy dealing with life..you all know what I am talking about:)

Things are changing once again for our family. My DH is leaving for another 1yr deployment overseas in early June. We just returned from a whirlwind house-hunting trip in Pa. Found a sweet little house, and even though it is in a residential area...I am excited to finally have our own home..we have never bought before, so this is a huge step:) The homes with land and farms were either out of our price range or needed too much work for me live there alone with my daughter. So, this is a step closer to family...and a new beginning. I have missed being here and chatting with you all...hope everyone is doing well. Know this, my Farmgirl lifestyle will still be lived no matter where I live.....you must bloom where you are planted:) Have a great day everyone...Hugs, Erica

Hello Erica,

Congratulations on the house! I am sure that is an exciting step for you guys. I am sure, even though it is in town, you will make it an awesome place to call home.

Sorry, your honey is going to be deployed again.

(I love the saying, "bloom where you are planted"!)

Erica,
It's not location that makes you a Farmgirl, it's the attitude! So don't worry if you don't have a huge amount of land... you'd be surprised on how little you need.
Congratulations on your new home and prayers for the safe return of your husband.

Erica- I echo what Teresa said!! Its all about your "farmgirl spirit"!
You can do all kinds of container gardening etc even if you are on a small suburban lot.
Best of luck to you, and THANK YOU to your husband for keeping all of us safe!
Smiles and Farmgirl Hugs,
Laurie

Ditto Ditto Ditto to all the ladies above me! So happy you have a home of your own, it's a wonderful feeling and it sounds perfect for a single Mom while her DH is away keeping us safe and helping those less fortunate then we are! Thank him from this Mainiac, ok?

Thanks gals....I will pass along all your words of support and thankfulness to my husband. I am so thankful to have all of you here...your friendship and support has meant so much to me in just the short time I have been a part of this forum. Making treasures for Mail Art and sending cards and sentiments has meant so much to me....being able to reach out and touch another person's life in a positive way....I love how we all do that for each other. Thank you for making me feel so welcome.

Debbie, I am looking forward to our get together this month. I can't wait to meet you and have a day adventure. And no matter where I live we will always be sisters....always;) And I still plan on bringing my girl out to see the fossil beds too....have to do that:) I will shoot you an email soon....hugs, Erica
