It is that time of year again - I am starting the first of this years many Baby Goat Naming Contests here at Larkspur Funny Farm. To learn all about it just go to my blog www.larkspurfunnyfarm.blogspot.com under today's (3/21/11) posting and find out all about the little girl who is the subject of this naming contest. There you will also find the small set of rules on how to enter and when the winner will be selected.

The winner will not only have bragging rights but will also win a great prize.

Please place your naming entry on my blog. You can enter as many times as you wish but with a new name each time. If for some reason you have trouble please contact me thru this thread...

Good Luck and Have Fun!!!

Thanks so much Robin - did you remember to place the area of craft you would be interested in???

Just a reminder to others you can enter more then once and if you might be so kind you can tell others about the contest - the more the merrier..(is that spelled right?)

Again, thanks Robin.

Oh Thank you Darcie and Janie for playing!!! Great to have you at the site and for adding to the fun... She is such an incredible girl - Wednesday morning when I went into the barn she came running to me wanting hugs and snugs. I picked her up and the love fest began. I was so sweet because all the other little kids came up as if to say "Hey, I want some of that loving".... Most are just to fast but many stood there and let me pet them, scratch their backs and even a few let me pick them up. The rule here is I let you be a goat with your four legged mother unless you need assistance so it was wonderful to get to love on them for a bit...

Again, thanks for those who entered but remember you can enter more then once and I still would love to hear from all of you - I know there are some folks who are being shy - don't be I would love to hear your names.

Have a great day and be safe with the wild weather out there...

I added a few more, Grace. I've been working on my family lineage and I have to say, my maternal side was rather inventive with names! We even tossed around a few for Violet.
I added a few of my favorite strong, but loving ladies' names, and added another that has some "special" meaning, based on the wee one's color.

We Have the Winner of the Naming Contest --- Drum Roll Please

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Michele 2622 and the name she submitted is BELLA
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Congrat's to Michele and thank you for such a wonderful name. I now start the task of getting her to know it and to come to it... What a great task.

As soon as I hear back from Michele I will be sending her prizes to her - she is a sewing gal and that has always been one of my skills from an early age so I wished I could tell you what Michele is getting but I want it to be a surprise..... I sure hope she will enjoy her goodies....

Before anyone get's to sad that they did not win I still have many more goats who need names in the barn so we are not done - stay turned for more details today....

I hope everyone had fun and we are still sitting with tons of prizes so keep those thinking caps on..

Since today is my first day as a Farmgirl Sister, I missed out on the baby naming contest but am glad to hear there will be more coming up. I attended a Wool Fest in Eureka, Montana last year and fell in love with the Angora Goats. We are planning on adding them to our farm family this year so I am very excited. Love MaryJane and her ideas and of course, the Farmgirls. And love the name Bella.
