I just finished reading Ree Drummond's Black Heels to Tractor Wheels--A Love Story and, boy, was it! I couldn't put it down. Her writing is both humorous and sensitive, and her story is a good, old-fashioned love story (complete with recipes!). She is the Pioneer Woman who has written a cookbook too. A definite must-read! I read it online and I loved it, too. She also takes wonderful pictures. Her site is very pic heavy, so I don't go there much anymore. Besides, minus the cows, I'm living her life, lol! But it's a wonderful story.

I bought a copy for my Aunt Glenda, She loved her Christmas book and wanted Ree's new one, she loved it. I will borrow hers when I see her again.

I ordered her cookbook too. Just waiting for it to arrive. I like her blog as the photography is beautiful and she keeps her comments to a minimum (plus she is hysterically funny). Some bloggers talk TOO much. Dianne

I believe I just read somewhere that they are making her book (Black Heels to Tractor Wheels--A Love Story) into a movie -something about Reese Witherspoon playing the lead......

That is cool about the movie deal. I had read where her brother Mike was wanting to play himself, but I didn't know if a movie was a sure thing yet. Reese Witherspoon would be awesome in the part.

I saw her once on TV, a major show, but I can't remember which one right now. She was so funny and cooked a dinner for "her man", on the show, giving the recipes and all. I don't think the TV reporter got the whole loving your man, being a country woamn thing. It was funny to watch her reactions. I wish I could remember who it was!! Anyway, I have been to the site and she sure has a great life. Now it might be a movie? That will be a romantic movie.

I made her Chocolate Sheet Cake from The Pioneer Woman Cooks cookbook for a potluck this weekend and it was a big hit. Since we had lots of kids, I used sprinkles instead of nuts on the frosting. Although there was a ton of sugar in the recipe it wasn't too sweet at all. Dianne in the Hudson Valley

My kids love the Chocolate Sheet Cake! It has been a favorite for sometime now.

I just got The Pioneer Woman Cooks and Black Heels to Tractor Wheels. I just love them and her blog is very entertaining and funny. I am eating a piece of the Chocolate Sheet Cake as I type this. So good! I highly recommend both books. Did someone say they are making a movie! I will have to finish the book and then I will see the movie. I wonder who will play Marlboro Man?

Happy to be a "Raggedy Ann" in a Barbie World!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.
