Did you know that when you buy a stalk of celery and you take it out of the plastic bag and wrap it in foil it stays fresh for quite a while in the refrigerator. A friend gave us that tip a while ago and we have been doing it. Works great.

That IS good to know! it also cans well if you get a whole lot ahead. I slice it into 1/4" slices and pack into 1/2 pint jars (or pints) and cover with boiling salted water and pressure can...very useful in casseroles and stuff.
