HI! I got a new (old) record player and am so excited. :) Anyone have old record collections they don't use anymore? I am particularly interested in old classic rock but have wide musical tastes so let me know what you have. Records are heavy, I know, so I am glad to pay shipping on them. Goods I have to barter: Anything from my etsy site (girlwithasword.etsy.com), as well as anything from my "regualr" business - prairielandherbs.com handmade herbal bodycare items.

Hey Maggie, I found out my daughter who's off at college wants to hold on to at least some of our LPs, so I'd better wait until she's home to start shipping any off! If she leaves a decent selection, I'll email you a list later. Thanks anyway! Heidi

Maggie,

My husband has a lot of records, I asked him if he has any he'd like to get rid of, he's going to look through them this weekend. Also wanted to mention in case you didn't know, that records can be sent media mail, takes long, but it's a lot cheaper! What era are you looking for? Our thrift stores usually have a pile, but they're usually around $2-3 each.

Anne, thank you! Yep, I have been combing goodwill and am looking forward to garage sales this summer. :) I like MANY kinds of music, from olllld blues, to Buddy holly, loads of classic rock from the 60's and 70's, some country, and I'm a child of the 90's so I also like grunge and punk - I have two friends that I am also putting together record "care packages" for and they like country, "girlie" bands, and hair bands, so between us, we like a LOT of kinds of music.

Carol, thank you! I am looking forward to hearing from you :)

Elaine, I know the feeling, I am not sure where the week got to either. Thanks so much, everyone!

Maggie, I have some but they are in a box at the moment. In the process of moving in with the new Hubby. I also know he has some. So it may be a month or more, but I'll take a look. Email me end of April if you haven't heard from me.

Hi Maggie,

It looks like you have many of the same tastes as us (we're children of the 80's, born late 70's:) My husband has finally looked through his records, and I hope you're interested in/don't have the ones he had duplicates of (he tells me they are pretty special, hehe).

Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers (the cool one with the real zipper on the front, love this one for the zipper alone - we don't want to check to see if it zips because we don't want to wreck it), I bought him a second one on accident. Record has some wear. Cover is in okay condition.

The Who - Live at Leeds He said this album is in awesome condition. Cover is in good condition, too.

The Beatles - Beatles '65, record has some wear, cover has wear and tape on it.

Please send me an e-mail if you're interested!

Maggie, I can't help you out with any records - my husband has been collecting them at garage sales, etc. for years and finally got a good stereo setup about a year ago - now he listens to records more than anything else. But he weeded out his collection already and sold all the ones he didn't want to local record stores. If you've got any independent music retailers in your area, check them out. Even if they were selling all cds a few years ago, most stores have switched over to having a large record department again.

Hey Maggie, My husband and I own a radio station. AM Classic Hits. I have over 3000 lps and 45's in this collection. Anything from 40's to the 80's rock, country, western, and them some. Most have never been played. I will try to compile a list of some of them to see if you're interested. Let me know.

Theresa
