Finally!! Boxes are done and in the mail. I am happy to say that this was a challenge for me. I wasn't sure when I signed up I could pull it off and at times I struggled to stay focused but it's all done and I can't wait to see what everyone else did. Thanks for everybodies efforts. Hugs, Joey

I have all the "stuff" and thought this coming week would be a "free" week for me, relatively speaking. So I had planned to work on the match boxes then.

We rec'd a phone call this morning and DD#1 and her baby were in a serious car wreck on their way to church. Their van is totaled and the lady who ran the stop sign may not survive (she is in her 80's). DD's other three children are here and were suppose to be going home this afternoon. That plan has been scratched as, Jenny and her husband will be dealing with insurance, car rental, etc. plus emotionally (even though the wreck was not her fault), Jenny is having trouble dealing with the fact the driver of the other car may not make it.

The kids should be returning home next Sunday. If I am able to work a little each evening and finish the boxes up Monday (Memorial Day), I can put them in the mail on Tuesday. I realize they will not get to your house until the 3rd or 4th. So, if this unacceptable, I understand. The supplies I have won't go to waste.

I would like to be a part of the swap, but I won't be upset if you'd rather I pull out. There is no sense in adding extra stress to anyone. This morning's wreck just serves to put a lot of things in perspective. :)

Cheryl,

We are very sorry to hear of your daughter's accident. Glad that she and the little one are physically ok. Your family is in our thoughts.

Regarding this swap, I will let you make the call. I can wait to return the boxes by a couple of days if that would help you. I know how excited the ladies are in getting their set of boxes, so I don't want to hold them off for a week or two. I was thinking that I could send yours out seperatly to each person, but that would cost close to $20 in postage (as there are 25 swappers at probably close to $1 or more per envelope). I hope you understand.

Just let me know what your wishes are and I will go with that.

You and your family take care.

Have a good day!

Michelle,

I think I'll pass this time. Everything is crazy around here, what with the weather and having extra kids for another week. I'm at the point, I do not know what to expect from day to day. The National Weather System is calling for our area to continue to have severe storm activity on through Wednesday night. (I wouldn't be able to work on the matchboxes, if I'm having to herd kids to the cellar each evening.) If you would like to see a picture of the tornado that was just south of us Saturday go here:

http://adaeveningnews.com/local/x370467325/Tornado

I've only talked with Jenny (DD#1) once today, so I am not sure how she is doing - other than sore. I so appreciate everyone's prayers and I know Jenny does too! This is just something that they are going to have to work through over the next few days. Please continue to pray for the other driver.

I appreciate your thoughts on sending mine out separately, but that is certainly too much and I would never expect someone to do that.

There will be another time, when I will get to participate.

Thank you for your kindness and understanding!

Blessings,
Cheryl

Oh Cheryl, So glad Jennie and the baby weren't hurt. Will certainly keep your family and the other driver in prayer.
Michelle, what happens to the boxes now? Are we all just getting 24? Do you need us all to chip in and do more boxes? I have 5 extra Icould probably do something with. I could easily do 10 more, if you need me to. I could probably do the 25 boxes over the next few days if everyone in content to just have a wrapped mint in the box. I could do the boxes but I don't have time to make anything for the inside. Maybe someone else could do something for the inside. I'll e-mail you. Just let me know soon so I can go buy the boxes and get started. Thanks, Joey

Hi Ladies,
I just have a couple of last minute questions about our matchbox ornaments. The decorated matchbox is the ornament, but I'm not sure what it is we are supposed to stuff the box with besides the piece of paper with our info on it. Is it to be another small ornament or a goodie/treasure? My boxes are decorated but I need to know what I should be putting inside so I can get them off today.

Thanks for clearing this up for me!
