Great blogging tips here gals! I too love the Homestead Revival community and the Barn Hop on Monday's there. I also have a fun blog hop that has been running for 6 weeks called the Farmgirl Friday and Farm Friend Friday blog hop! I've posted it on the forum a few times. I co-host with another blogger, Amy of Verde Farm...So far we are averaging between 75 and 95 entries per week! It's been great fun to see all the farms and homesteads waking up for spring! Best of all, meeting new like minded blogging friends. All great folks and friendly, just like here!

Candy, I tried to leave a comment on your blog but for some reason, my password isn't working at the moment :( I have been looking for a recipe like that! So glad you blogged about it. Your blog is great!

Sometimes it does feel like that, but I still like to read back years of my life it really helped me see how far I have come, and I like that it's paper free and I can easily add digital pics to my posts, it's kind of like a scrap book journal of my life, that is totally free to make and completely "green"!

Heather, I love to go back occasionally, and see where I was before, and I'm blown away sometimes by how far I, myself, and my family have come. A journal is exactly what my blog is. Recording how life, changes, and UPS & downs pave our roads. I thought no one was reading. Didn't care, but thought I was just sending my story to outter space....I got about two commenters, thought "oh, ok". When I started my first blog my friend installed a hit counter(years ago). I use a few stat counters now, and though I only have 7 public followers, I get over 100 hits a day, with a lot of return visits from the same ip addresses. I have regular visitors from Russia and the Philippines?! It may feel like your blog isn't being read, but you'd be surprised by how many random people stop by. The best free one I've found is.. "StatCounter" but I also use "Sitemeter", "BlogPatrol" and Google Analytics. Set up an account, add your project (your blog), and wait a week. Go back and see all the activity your blog gets, if you're curious.
The tears I shed then, watered the flowers I harvest now.

Yeah blogger automatically has it as well, I check it in my controls sometimes. I do get a lot of readers, a lot of people I don't know. lol But, I was just saying even when I think no one is reading, I like to re-read it myself. I've had mine for almost 10 years now, and wow things have moved on! lol However, I didn't keep track of it for a few years of those 10 and feel bad about it, cause now I don't have those "days". lol I used to have others that weren't from blogger, but over the last oh 15 years (I've had a blog for 10 years, and a website for 5 years before that) the counters, and stat companies come and go and I got tired of having to go from one place to another when which ever one I was using went out of business.
Here's what blogger said for my stats- Pageviews today 5 Pageviews yesterday 42 Pageviews last month 899 Pageviews all time history 3,377
Also this week, these are where my viewers live-
United States 163 Germany 3 China 2 Hong Kong 2 Netherlands 1 Russia 1 Singapore 1
And just as a btw, I do the bare bones of things to get readers, I wonder how many I would get if I actually tried, and hadn't disappeared for that 3 years that I didn't keep track of it and probably lost a lot of my followers during that time! lol haha

Wow its been a while since I have been back on here and am so happy that though I was away so many people got so much information thats awesome. I will definately check the links out you shared on here for sure. What im trying to figure out now is how to connect my old, and definately neglected blog on wordpress with my website. I loved my blog then this being the first year out at our property and a HUGE garden and farmers market guess what got forgotten. I promise everyone I will work at getting everything up to speed as there is sooo much to share. Thanks again for all the help and support what an awesome group of people on here.

I would love to host a guest blogger now and then on my site. I sort of blog in fits and starts. I'll do a lot of writing for a few days then just go blank. I think this Spring it may be harder to really do a lot of blogging when we're all outside a lot and busier. We'll see. Anyway, if you're up for guest-blogging sometime, give me a shout! Thanks! It is great to hear from you and I LOVE your blog. Definately think its important to connect to others who are like minded and living the same way we are. Its amamzing how many people we talk to in person say, "your doing what?" makes us feel kinda of alone. Thank you for asking me I would love too though I am definately a newby at blogging and very very sporadic. May I ask how you do your blogging from home? Ive yet to figure a cost efficient way to do so we dont have any electricity yet and no good cell service. Have thought about getting service through a cell phone company but waaaay expensive. Have an awesome day did add you to my readings on blogspot which I just switched to and am learning to use. Kat
