I liked your tulip photo Kristina along with the yummy asparagus picture. A friend gave me a tulip "starter" that will be in a jar with its little roots in water on my windowsill (indoors) until it stops snowing here in Eastern Washington. That may be awhile!

My sweet Australian cattle dog, Bramble. She is the best friend, fun, sweet, friendly . . . loves to "play ball", tend to our Longhorns, tussle with our cat (her picture is here too), go on power walks with me. She's 7 years old and a best pal. She was born with all the light coloring on her face/muzzle and the brindling marks on her nose and ears.

Our pear trees are blossoming now . . this is one with the "tummy" part of the Sleeping Ute Mountain in the background. The other tree branches that aren't in bloom are apples.

Springtime in the Rockies!

Bramble, what a sweetie girl you are! Mother Hen talks about you all the time and the walks you take nice to see what a beautiful girl you are.
Thanks ladies for sharing all the wonderful photos.
Mine is of the Black Squirrel, now I am from Missouri and the only color Squirrel I had every seen was grey, that is all we saw in Montrose CO were grey as well. Imagine our surprise the first time we saw a black squirrel showed up on our back deck to enjoy the birds sunflowers seeds. They are real fast, I took this picture from my kitchen window. He is quite the acrobat don't you think. The other picture is just a view from our back deck with Pikes Peak off in the distance.
Farm girl Hugs,
Debbie

Debbie-
Love the picture of the black squirrel! They are so neat- especially when all you are used to is grey ones. Here in New York we only have grey (at least on Long Island). I remember the first time I saw a black squirrel was in Vancouver,BC on my way to Alaska- so neat!
Thanks for sharing!

Couple of pics from today.
First one is how "my" mountains looked today. It has been windy and kinda cloudy. There was probably a bit of snowfall up there today. They just got another good covering of snow earlier this week.

This is the SLEEPING UTE MOUNTAIN. It is what we see to the southwest of our house. It is on the Ute Mountain Ute Indian reservation right in this very SW Corner of the state.
The tallest section is his arms folded over his chest, head to the right (north). Then his knees and on down to his "big toe" which is hard to see, but it's there. Ths farm in the foreground is one that borders the farm that I grew up on.

Our scarecrow doubles. I used the printer to transfer our photos to muslin and then made sacks out of them that I stuffed with straw in a roundish head shape.
The gate was an engagement present from my sweetie. At that time the garden was only a dream. Dreams do come true!

I don't know if this fits this thread, but here is a recent picture of spring pansies. I had some fun with it on the computer.

I love watching the birds through all the seasons. Here is a picture taken last early summer of Canada geese and goslings on Spokane River just a long walk from my home ...

and quail who visit our back yard daily ... sometimes in the dozens especially in the winter when we feed them ...
