for the Green Bean Delivery I am ordering from!!!!
My total bill is $56.00 with my bin of produce and add on's. The only thing I changed was krimini mushrooms...I knew noone would eat those, so I swapped it out with some fresh herbs!!!
I'm getting this delivered to my little porch on Friday, January 21st!
All organic and local if available:
3 fuji apples
1 lb. broccoli
1 each bundle of thyme, oregano and rosemary
2 Cara Cara Oranges (red fleshed orange)
2 Danjou pears
1 8 oz mixed salad greens (local)
1 8 oz baby spinach
2 tangerines
2 lbs. garnett yams
dozen local eggs
2% Snowville Creamery milk (local)
Whole Snowville Creamery milk (local)
4 oz Arrowhead herb Chevre (local)
1 lb. banana chips (for the girl)
1 lb. Honey Whole Wheat bread (local bakery)
6 pack "kick start breakfast patties (Vegan Luna Patties's from Columbus, OH)
8 oz ground coffee (local roaster, fair trade)
I can't wait. Already making up some dinner and some deserts--looks like a good salad in my future, and also some stuffed chicken with spinach and chevre!!!!

| looks like a fun basket to receive!! ??garnett yams?? are they regular yams but maybe i don't know their "technical" name?? have fun and enjoy.......sounds like it will really inspire dinner! |

I'm super excited and by accounts from other friends who use their services, it's just a wonderful thing. I've already had some "you have to try..." from folks. I love that I can change it up each delivery and that they give you a "heads up" to what's in your bin for the week so I can plan accordingly.
Garnet yams are those lovely dark red ones--there are orange yams, and white yams and then the garnets (and I'm sure a ton more!).

I thought, so, too, Lisa. I purchased the smalles fruit/veggie bin, because, it will be mostly me eating the salad greens and fruit. Violet will eat apples and try some oranges, but right now she eats fruit like a spider in that she just sucks the "juice" out and leaves the skins behind...Justin won't touch anyof it with a 10 foot pole, with the exception of the yams, the spinach (cooked and stuffed in chicken). The real treat is the extra add ons. It's endless and I can't help but think, "you mean I don't have to drive 30 minutes to Whole Foods?"

Hi Jonni, I belong to a CSA, Klesick Family Farm, out here and receive a similar box of yummy goodies. All Organic too. The farm is local and they work with other farms and I really enjoy my stuff. MB

@Marybeth--I think we're all lucky to have CSA's in our areas, if we do. I am also signed up for a traditional CSA with a Upick option beginning in May. I'm doing a half share for our little family and it will be more than enough for this girl to keep up with. Gonna keep me on my toes with making good food, though!
@Amy Grace--it's TRUE--she really does eat fruit like a spider :) Whenever I pick up her plate, there are all these little deflated grapes, strawberries and clementine slices. She just sucks out the good parts and leaves the rest!

That sounds fantastic. And what a variety of produce! There is at least one CSA in my area. I would like to try it, but am concerned that the produce would go bad before I use it up. Historically, when I buy fruits especially, they end up rotting on the table. My husband wants them but then doesn't eat them and I am not a big produce eater. I know I should eat more, but I just don't.

I'm really excited (as if you couldn't tell, Loyce)!! It's a nice variety, and I like that they also have the opportunity to buy local artisan breads, goat cheese, milk and other items that are made within our tristate region by small farms and producers. I'm especially excited about the "faux" breakfast sausage patties made by Luna in Columbus, just two hours north of us. I've read about these two gals and their product, but never thought I'd ever be able to score any. So yay! And the variet is endless. I previously put the link in, but I'll do it again so you gals, if you're curious, can check it out.
