LOL It is offical I suck at mail art. I was only able to send out very simply decorated envelopes. I had every intention of sending out more but time got away from me. I will do better next time. I was also under the impression that mail art was different then what is on here so I promise to improve.

Marilyn, it's all good! The great thing about mail art is that as we define it here, it's all encompassing......you are free to do pretty much anything :)
I know that decades ago when I first stumbled upon mail art, the term was used to define more of a decorated and creative outer packaging. Wild and beautiful envelopes, postcards, and packages in strange shapes and sizes - like foot long 3-D plastic fish. And yes, the post office will mail a foot long 3-D plastic fish, but they really change you a lot extra for the hassle LOL.
I also realized last night that it was the 15th, not sure where this month has gone....mostly because I have been medicated most of the time trying to get rid of continual migraines. Blech!! My mail art hasn't left yet but the final glue layer is drying and I think I can mail it out tomorrow morning. Silly me, it was more than half done a couple weeks ago and then got set aside, long forgotten.....poor card!

Gail...loved The March Mail-Art from you! Even your envelope was adorable! Made me want to go out and fly a Kite with my Grand-daughter!! You did an Awesome job on the Mail-Art, I am just in awe of how well you did the kites, tails, and string and I will enjoy if for months to come! Thank You So Much!!!
~ Just so you know I had to glue buttons back on...hope I got them where you meant for them to be and also the picture came unglued from the back paper...I think because they folded it into my mail box. So, you just might write..."Please Do Not Bend" on your next envelope. Thankfully The Picture itself was not bent in half or anything. I might have had to raise a ruckus with my postal carrier if that were the case.lol
In love and appreciation, ~peggy

Peggy, So glad you received your mail-art in such a timely fashion. But seems to have paid the price since it arrived falling apart. So sorry. Should have had them stamp the envelope. Don't know why I didn't because I always do and it obviously can make a difference. Looks like you got it all back together perfectly and I am thrilled that you like it and are enjoying it. I do love mail-art! Lots of fun! Many hugs and blessings, Gail, FG Sister #61 |

Wow! Thanks to my mail partner Erica for such a wonderful piece of mail art. I worked a 15 hour work day yesterday and when I got home my package was waiting for me. SURPRISE! Sure was a great way to end my day! I will post pics this weekend.
My partner was Rolonda in Kentucky....have you received your mail art yet?

I like the shamrock with the ribbons for the stem-creative idea. All the mailart is fun to see and I know the one I got this month was really nice. It's a fun thing.

Got my March mail art from Alaska! What fun! I sent mine to Colorado. I forgot to take a picture though so I will have to contact Debbie and ask her to email me a picture. I have tons of ideas and tons of buttons and bows and paper and fabric scraps. I get coupons and other junk mail everyday that I am saving for the base of my work...so mine is tryly "mail" art. HAHAHA or maybe that was the whole idea to begin with. Happy Spring! Sunny and already 55 degrees at 9 am in SE Georgia. YAY!

Hi there MAIL ARTISTS:
I just wanted to put a couple of reminders out there regarding posting pictures.
All of you should have gotten an email from me after you signed up titled "POSTING PICS In MAIL ART". In that email I tried to guide you through the process right here through the forum. So, you might refer back to that. But I know it can still be a challenge, so let me know because I'm willing to help you out.
More importantly:
1). It is NOT a requirement that you post pics! - it is just simply something that is really nice so we can all enjoy the masterpieces.
2). I/we realize that not all of you have digital cameras or the ability to post pictures soooooo: - we ALL need to be sensitive to that fact - if you are able to, take a pic BEFORE sending it so you can post IF . . and I repeat . . IF, your recipient is not able to. - I sent another email a while back about not posting pics of something you send BEFORE your recipient receives it.
3). It IS a requirement to acknowledge that you have received mail art from the one sending to you. - that's just the way we do it!!! - soooo, even if you don't spend a lot of time on the forum posts, PLEASE, at the very least log on and post that you received your mail art.
So let's just keep on sharing with each other, pursuing the creativity in each of us . . . and embrace the individuality in that . . and having fun!!!
Thanks for all your creativitiy and sharing! CJ

Karen...that is Beautiful! Lovely Job on that one Girl! (you always do though!) That is just such a Sweet Victorian St. Patrick's Day Card...love it! Sometimes, I think that is the Era I should have been born in. My home is very Victorian/Eclectic.
Anyway, thanks for sharing!
Blessings, Peggy

What lovely mail art! I'm running behind this month, we've been passing the icky flu bug around in our family for what seems like weeks rather than days ... but I plan to mail mine tomorrow. Blessings, Catherine

Thanks, Peggy! That is so sweet. I love that era too, as a matter of fact my house was built in 1906 and I think a lot about how 'they' lived in this house, what they wore, how the decorated, etc. Fun!
Love seeing the cards....thanks so much Farmgirls!!!
