What is the main ingredient of WD-40 ?

...and my personal favorite...removing the residue of chili oil from my hands. If you've ever suffered after processing a batch of chili peppers, you know the pain. Spray WD-40 on them, rub them vigorously and wash with soap and water. All gone, chili burning.

Wow. I never would have guessed. I've been worried about it lately as just another chemical thrown onto the market (though I knew it had been around a while).

I don't know. . .according to Snopes.com it's petroleum based-- http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/household/wd-40.asp
I was interested and looked it up, as my husb. is a fish farmer and is always interested in fish products :) Sorry to see it may not be the fish oil claimed above! |

It's also good for spraying in your car door lock when it's frozen shut. Melts the ice. Don't know what's in it but it works.

It may have contaned the fish oil at one time and like all good things....we are now using the synthetic version
