loved reading about the farmgirl getting together on pages 48 and 49 of MaryJane's latest magazine ... the Farm Kitchen issue ... do any of your gurlz belong to a farmgirl chapter?
we had a wonderfully fun gathering of farmgirls from several states a few weeks back .. we spent a couple nights and few days together.
i do plan on another gathering .. will probably be a 'one-day' one this time though .. have some fun plans for the day .. sooooo .. be thinkin' of travelling this way (central Kentucky) .. sometime during the month of JULY .. will let everyone know the date soon's i know of it! we will probably hang out here at cabin creek farm and do some creating and baking and cookin' over the firepit .. and walkin' in the woods .. and lots of idea exchanges and stories and giggles! e-mail me if you think you even MIGHT be able to attend. i hope to get some of the local girls to come to this one too!
IF you need to spend the night .. we have sweeeeet cabins down by the river right in the town of GREENSBURG .. they are only $45. per night and sleeps about 4 people per cabin .. which is pretty reasonable split 4 ways! but let me know as soon as you hear of the DATE cuz' it is summertime .. and there is canoeing down on the river and they may book early (only 4 cabins down there!) xo, frannie

Frannie I hope that my boss will need to go to Harrods Creek maybe in July. I think its just outside of Lexington. If so it would be a day trip. As soon as I hear anything I will let you know.
We're having a Midwest Farmgirls First Annual Get Together in August in Viroqua Wisconsin. We hope to have ladies from MN WI IL IA and anywhere else we can get them! Viroqua is said to have one of the biggest organic farmers market in the country.

i'm thinkin' about mid-july (we do have a Mississippi River Boat trip planned with some friends .. and i don't have that date yet .. will have to, of course, plan around it.
sure hpe both of you gurlz can visit .. beth .. i am about an hour and a half from Lexington and lisa .. same for nicholasville (you are close to lexington, right?)
it will be much fun!
more info to come as i get a firm date. xo

I would absolutely love to come, but this year is totally out of the question. Do we get to bring our DH along? Maybe next year, please keep us all posted........and let me know if you have one next year. I've never been to Kentucky!!

Frannie, Please count me in...I would love to come back up there when you ARE there! I open my boutique on July 8 and after that, I will be closed on Sundays and Mondays. If you have a get-together on either of those days, any week, I will be there. With pictures of Art in the Alley! Hugs!!!

Frannie~We canceled our trip your way for June due to your trip~~ but we are planning again for down south for possibly July 17--21st or so..Not the whole time but that time frame would work for me..!

Frannie, I had a great time there and met several people...the mayor (he was in the information tent, along with more of your friends) and I went and spent time browsing through your shop and talking with your friendly shopkeepers there, and I went and met the ladies at the Plaid Peacock, who were all wonderful. I had so much fun dropping your name all over town!!! I met a blind date there (he is from Berea) and let's just say that I will definitely be back to Greensburg, but I won't be back with him! LOL. All in all - a terrific day and a beautiful drive. I wanted to wait and see where you live when I come up to visit you.

Isn't our Mayor just a sweetheart! Be sure to get a copy of the upcoming MERCANTILE GATHERINGS Magazine .. i did an article on: My Olde Kentucky Home-TOWN .. and mention lots of the people you saw!
