When I was growing up my elders always fried the chicken neck when ever we had fried chicken. They fried the whole dang bird just about.
Liver,Gizzard ect. My husband will not let me fry the neck or the liver. He thinks it is gross. I use to love nibbling on thr fried neck. Anyways do you think this is gross? Haven't had a fried neck in years because of him!!

Yes, I think that's gross. :-) <giggle> The only use for the neck in my book is boiled and stripped for dressing to go with the chicken!!

I don't think it is gross. While growing up my allowed pieces at the family dinner table were the back and neck. I enjoyed nibbling too. Never had a "choice piece" of fried chicken until I fried my own.

Dorinda, I love the neck too...it's not gross...cook it anyway...

When I was growing up the neck and back were always mine so, no I don't think it gross. You girls make me think of things I've forgotten and I just have to smile. Thanks.

Thanks from me too. My Mom just passed away in May, and frying the chicken neck and back made me think of Mom frying chicken when we were kids. Great memories. I loved the back, all that crispy skin, yummy. Yes, we ate the skin and loved it. (I still do too)ssssshhhhhhh. Funny how ya just can't get things to taste like Mom's, isn't it?
