Does anyone know if it is truly safe to drink Echinacea tea while breast feeding? of course the Ped says not but i only believe half of what they say. I enjoy Tradtional Medicinals teas and like to use the Echinacea Plus when I feel a cold coming on.
I am also breastfeeding and I understand Echinacea to be okay. You have to be careful of combinations such as Trad.Med. Gypsy cold care though, because thyme and peppermint both diminish your supply.
Drinking echinacea alone should not be a problem while breastfeeding. In fact, if your babe gets sick, you can take the echinacea and it will get to your baby in your breastmilk. Very good remedy for babies/toddlers who are congested and snotty.
